Shitty mood. Shitty workout. Shitty eating.

Dunno what it is, but I've lost the drive a bit this week. Didn't eat too much over the weekend, and was down a pound and a half when I weighed myself Monday.

Speaking of Monday, that was a shitty workout. Couldn't squat or do SLDLs, as a result of something in my back, most likely as a resuly of playing football the day prior.

This (combined with other, non-training-related crap) has put me in a shitty mood which I have not recovered from yet. I know I just gotta keep my head in the game, rehab, eat like an animal this week, and I'll be good to go real soon. Maybe I just needed to get this off my chest. Oh well. Hopefully I'll be repping some 315 deads tomorrow. :)

Take it easy, relax and eat up. You'll be back on track in no time. Maybe you needed a rest anyway? The old-school program is quite hardcore afterall...

I pulled a muscle in my back two weeks ago playing football. Istill can't workout. It sucks. I thought my back would stop hurting after a couple of days but it still hurts.

I know how you feel, man. I just had a crappy bench workout,(235x3x3, can't feel the groove.)
I'm working 12 hours day 7 days a week, & it looks like I'll be here for another 5 months.
My right trap, shoulder & elbow hurt. Maybe it's time to step back for a few days.

Sometimes we just get in a funk. Maybe I oughta jump out of a plane.

I could always take a ride up to Iraq, that would probably cheer me up.

Watch some Wrestling... go rent some of the classic Wrestlemania's... those things get me PUMPED up beyond all belief...

I feel that way... but as soon as I step in the gym, I try to get really motivated... hell, today I had snot coming out of my eye (it was bloodshot) because of some sort of sinus infection I have... made deadlifts kind of hard... bar rows for that matter too...

Everyday can`t be all blue skies and sunshine. Every now and then we all have our cloudy days. Hang in there bro......the sun shall shine for you again

take that shit out on those deads tomorrow brotha!!! that's what i would do!! tb

There must be something in the air, because I've been in the worst mood lately. My last lift sucked; hopefully, I'll redeem myself today.

BTW - my PLer claims I'm just overtrained - damn him! That was the last thing I wanted to hear. :-)

I know your pain - I hurt my back somehow doing front squats yesterday, and I'm not sure when I'll be able to workout again. :( Looks like a rough time for Elite right now. We'll all get back on track soon though.

Hey Zero! Know the feeling brother. Im down 5 pounds myself. (180) It always fucks with me big time. Ive been down 24lbs at my lowest point. Last month I was short on food money. This month though, Im gonna eat with a passion. Ive had it happen more times then I can count. So it doesnt freak me out as much as it once did. Trust me 1.5 lbs is nothing but water. I wouldnt even let that phase you. Your gonna get so psyched, so pissed your gonna bring yourself to a level beyond where you were previously. Your weight will be back within the next day or 2. Just eat mercilessly. Keep training hard!!!!!!!

I hear y'all on this one, can relate for sure.

I, too, been in a pretty somber mood for a couple weeks now, and haven't been sleeping well. Part of it, I am sure, is due to the semester's first big round of exams, which all hit me at once (five of them). Between that, work, and training, I'm losing my motivation to roll out of bed practically, nevermind get up and train or sprint.

I'm also nursing an aching lower back, so I have been laying off DLs and GMs for this week and next. That sucks, as they are some of my favorite lifts.

I've been overeating crappy food too. I think my body is definitely trying to tell me it needs to rest and heal. And that frustrates me endlessly, because I just started working with a trainer for PLing.

Grr. :)

Buddy,
I've been there.... I know how terrible it is...
Weather it be a lifting funk, or some sort of funk in your life; these things come and go....
I've had depression problems, I've thought I was sick of training...
I think I've been through it all... like everybody else here says.. either go in and hammer the weights.. or take a week or two off...

Maybe come up with a new and exciting training regime. Watch some WWF, watch some UFC, watch some Mr. Olympia, watch some pumping iron... watch them all...

I know you will get over it... And we are all gunna smash the 200 lb mark together!

Now go eat buddy! The fridge is calling you!

Well, I had some doubts about tonight's workout, but it turned out much better than I had anticipated ...

Flat bench.
5x5 with 235.

Deads.
5x3 with 315.

Chins, palms out.
5x5 with +25.

Calf work.

The dead work is a PR for me. I've never done multiple sets with heavy weight before. Well, fairly heavy. :)

I've been feelin kinda shitty lately too, which sucks because I was on a roll. I was really starting to get in the best shape of my life. Starting to have a lot of joint pain and feeling sluggish. This really blows... this is my favorite season and I feel like hell. Some of it is mental stress too, hopefully that will clear up shortly (should be getting an offer for a new job this week)!

Hope you get your motivation back.
