Shitting blood

Not to gross anyone out or anything, but has anyone else shit blood before. This is the first time this has happened to me. Should I go to the doctor or is this something that is common. I am 27.

I would go directly to the emergency animal clinic and get that hamster looked at.

if it is dark/deep red or even black, then yeah, that is bad because it is coming from deeper in your system and is older and dried.
if it is bright red, then it is less bad because it is coming from either the opening or closer to it.

that said, either way isn't that great for you - bleeding out of your ass is generally not a normal behavior.

also, if you are a runner, then you are more likely to have the dark blood in your crap than a "normal" person due to the jostling in your intestines and such - so if you get a test done at the doctors, make them aware of that so they can take that into account.

your doc is the only one who can tell whther its bad or not. its can be bad whatever the colour so get them to look. and remeber your bowel habits/frequency and mucus levels if they ask you

Or a fissure. If you are experiencing "hard" fecal matter and feel a burning sensation while crapping - most likely this is the problem.

Eat a alot of fiber rich cereal and/or get some stool softeners. Save the doc trip for a week or two.

As previously stated - if it's dark red - goto a doctor.
