Running Plan Army Rangers

Tblock1

New member
Does anyone have a good running plan for someone who wants to do some some of special ops, particularly army rangers? I used to be pretty fast and have good endurance but I have lost some motivation and need a plan to give me a kick in the ass and stay on track. Thanks.

Try Nike Plus there site is pretty good and the plus kit paired with ipod is good but I recommend using a garmin runner if ou wanting to keep accurate time and distance information, another is active.com they have some very good advise and programs. You lookin for time or distance?? I retired 5th group and this has kept me in check..
Peace, Forged

I guess I'm just trying to improve everything, I've only run over 3 miles once so I need to improve that, my mile time was 5:14 before but I've let that slip a lot. I'm just looking for a running program for 3 days a week or so that would let me improve both time and distance. Thanks for those sites though, I have always wanted a Garmin runner watch, but haven't been able to afford one:(

Of you have an ipod I would say get the nike plus on ebay about 20 buck it gives time, distance cals burned, when you sync to the nuke site it charts your run has programs for marathon, time and distance training as well as any kind of advice you need and its free!! Plus its like a community board also and can give you help in all areas..Good luck I just tipped the distance 7000 miles..
Good Luck..

Nice on the 7000 miles dude!!! I actually don't even have an ipod so that's not an option. But thanks for the active.com link, that is a great site.

are you army already?
you mentioned three miles

you'll get a lot more running then 3 miles most days for basic if youre not already enlisted

Nope I'm 17 right now and making the decision to either go to college and do Army ROTC or enlist and try out for the army rangers. I have been doing a lot of lifting and so my pushups and run times have slipped so I am trying to get back in to those.:)

if I may make a suggestion

go ROTC

no one goes green to gold (ok rarely)

just start old gold even ifyou are a butter bar

pay will go right up

SF is bad ass an all...not that Id know being female :) but being a commisioned officer is better

either way...your run times will improve in basic ten fold ..heh

Pretty much everyone I have talked too have told me to be an officer too They also said after a few years leading infantry I could go rangers. It's just that I've had a longstanding goal of doing some sort of special ops, and maybe police swat work later on. The only guys who have told me to go enlisted were both enlisted themselves in the rangers.:) Oh well, decisions, decisions.:(
