You and I have virtually diametric ideologies. The problem with your view is eventually you run out of other people's money (Thatcher). Regardless of the venue (US, Ireland, Portugal, Greece, UK), eventually the piper has to be paid.
The peace, love and hope model that involves transferring vast amounts of money from one group to another ignores a huge swing factor -- personal initiative. People don't work as hard and as effectively when they are paying someone else's bills. That loss of productivity not only doesn't help the downtrodden -- it also eventually bankrupts the wealth generators that could sign their paychecks.

Why do you even bother posturing as a moderate? I've wondered that about you for some time now. I'd say you, Lestat and Mr. Db agree on at least 75% of the issues, yet you'd deny being a liberal to the end.

And lol @ you making an accusation - of sorts - and then asking me to prove it wrong. Shouldnt it work the other way around? Why dont you list three "socialist" positions I believe in since I'm responding to your query.
Conservative positions? You tell me if the below are still considered "conservative" today. I cant really keep up with the whole goalpost moving thing:
1) I support a lower tax rate/closed loophole plan, much like the one that was included in the recent Ryan budget (which essentially was just the Bowles/Simpson tax plan). That works for me.
2) The recent drug tests for welfare recipients proposal in Florida. Should be expanded nationwide. I dont think the recipients should have to pay for the test out of pocket, though. The amount of money saved by denying benefits will be more than enough to pay for the costs of the tests.
3) I've said from the start that quantitative easing is bullshit, the stimulus was bunk, and both cause more harm them good.
