Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

I can picture you saying EVERYTHING in your post & I'm giggling! I am so glad you & your friend are able to train ... very cool.

I cannot imagine the guys there being that small. I felt like I was going to break you when I hugged you in MI, whether you up 20 lbs of water or not.

I am wondering... since you were really very open with your previous training while doing this show, I'd be lying if I said if wasn't great to follow your progress. The views on your thread alone should tell you I wasn't the only one. I understand & respect why you do not post details this time aroundbased on our previous conversations I want to know how you feel this training compares to your previous training with M. Seems to me like you've been getting worked (good thing :D) & I value your opinion on training. I am excited to see your leg development, I KNOW there will be some great things happening with those gams of yours ... :D

Have a great time T. :rose:

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Just dropping in to say hello! Still busy running around this country and well all I can say is partying and will be in need of a clean diet when I get back LOL Went to a turkish bath house all day yesterday. Its in a cave up in the mountains... and boy... some scary guys in speedos. I guess u can always see the package before u buy.... LMAO
At least I have been hitting the gym about 4 days a week for weights. Still people are confused with being German off of looks, and from Britain from my voice. Had quite a few drunk guys confused. Finally I just tried explaing in Spanish to an Italian guy and then gave up and said "Yes Im British."
Fun times... but at the same time Im ready to get back to my gym... Way to many gym stories that have cracked me up. Flip flops in the gym.. guys taking their shirts off to show me their muscles, people drinking coca cola while they work-out, and ohhh I cant forget the people that take smoke breaks between sets... ha ha ha

Anyway Ill be back to logging soon in about 10 days, and I miss u all :)

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Well today is my first official sorta rest day... Hit the gym this a.m.

Walked to the gym about 10 minutes,
Did Hams and Glutes...
Started with the lying leg curl machine which is about 4 foot off the ground and you just about have to hop up on it. Did the leg press high foot position, then some Standing leg curl machine which was a new interesting contraption I threw in after that. Then did some single leg lying leg curls. Followed up on the end with high resistance on the stair stepper. Walked back here 10 minutes.
Then ate some duck breast, and oatmeal.

This is the gym I like to work-out at over the other ones I've tried. Only 2 girls there this time. One on the tread, and one talking. Then the guys pretty much walk around like they are all that... One guy went over to show me he could do a pull up and was not even going all the way up and down. Another guy was doing some real random stuff. The people always keep it interesting for me here.

So Im pretty much going to play on here, shower, and then we have dinner over some house this evening, and then going out on the town.

I do have a funny story though I'll add on.
So we went to the Balaton a big, big lake and stayed at this resort. Well we all went swimming, and hit the sauna up and stuff. So my friend and I decide to get massages.... LMAO... For those that don't know we went through massage school together and we were partners throughout the whole year.
So we walk in and two ladies were doing massage work. I obviously speak little Hungarian. So we get right in and my friend goes in this curtained room, and I go in the one next to hers a few minutes later. Well I walk in and look over and there she is laying in her thong. I bust up laughing and said, "what's going on??" She said,"You have to get on the table." I said," Are we getting a couple's massage??" She started laughing said,"Well apparently they think we are together or something and decided to give us the couple's massage." So for the first 5 minutes I'm trying to control laughing.
O.k. so on to the massage portion... The lady I hear squeezing a load of oil out of her bottle and smacking her hands together. (By the way they did not know we were massage therapists and we never told them) So she starts just slicking me up. At this point there was no relaxing and actually I just wanted her to stop. She did some swirley job with her hands and I did not recognize a single stroke, and I could tell she had no idea about muscles. She did some really light lube job. When we were done I was literally dripping with oil, and I looked at my friend and said,"Did u tell her I wanted the lube job or what?" I felt like I just had a oil change and went and showered afterwards. My feet were all sliding around in my flip flops and it was the worse massage, but most comical one I have ever had. I still tipped her well and just walked away smiling. My friend said hers was o.k. and she had a bunch more work down then I did. I just had legs, and the lady loved my friggen right butt cheek because she about rubbed it off. Just when I thought she was done with it she would come right back and 'play' with it.
Speaking of butts... thats another whole log in itself..
Anyway Ill be here and there if anyone wants to chat. Going to catch up on some logs... :)

Yeah right...
I have another funny story about me. We were walking through a cemetary by a bunch of communist headstones (black with a gold star), and then we walked by a few presidents, and some actors... and I noticed the word Csalad was all over the place. I figured it was like the last name Smith.. Well I said,"Geez there are a lot of Csalad's dead in here." My friend busts up laughing uncontrollably and I was like what?! She said Csalad is the Hungarian word for family. Duh to me.. uhhh yeah there are a lot of dead families in there.

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

MORNING TREIL!!!

Hope you're well girl.. And still enjoying the Nars products!!!

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Well I'm not back 2 all u peeps who didn't read my log, LMAO
I don't get back till sunday.

Hit the gym 3 times this week... Going to hit the rest of the bod today.
Quads, calves, ab work
What will the gym have in-store today...

Here is my list of morons in the gyms:

1) The guys' who take their shirts off to show me their muscles and continue to work-out shirtless.

2) The girls' who look like they just ripped the tags off their new work-out clothes, and are affraid to smudge their make-up.

3) The peeps who walk in with flip flops to work-out.

4) The people who think doing huge arm circles is considered a full body warm-up

5) Love the guy who sips Coke through his work-out… maybe I'm missing something

6) Taking smoke breaks between sets…. Hmmmm maybe this helps to kill more oxygen off the hemoglobin faster then just the work-out making them think they are getting a better one??

7) 1 guy working out in socks,

8) 1 working out barefoot

9) funny guy : Crouched in front of the cables with a bent bar doing bicep curls. U would think the pulley would be on bottom.. this guy managed to somehow take a high pully and transform it into some low pulley, bicep curl by making the cable go between his clenched, crouched, bent knees.... Oddest thing I have seen.

10) Reading magazines on a bench can mentally make u huge.... Well I think that is one guy's philosphy.

11) Spending 4 hours in the gym (literally 7-11) is a sure fire way to add on muscle.

12) the guy telling ME in Hungarian I'm doing something wrong on the leg press, and then jumps on and presses with knees way past toes, and had his feet in a duck position bouncing the weight up and down AND doing 60kg less then me.

13) The guy with the huge gut, trying to tell me that a lat pull down in front is wrong.

AND My number one idiot:

14) The Biatch sitting on the junk leg press halfway bouncing 20kg (roughly 40 or so pounds) and simultaneously texting away on her cell phone for 6 sets, 30 plus reps, and 2 minute breaks between each set… If I had a gun she would have been dead.

In the end I still give all of them props.... Just because it is not a very common thing to be into working out here. I am typically the only girl in the gym. With that said I am about the same size as most of the guy's. I know I was tiny for my show... with my insulation on I do look a lot bigger. Plus I have noticed some muscle gains all over, especially in the legs.. even though they are still not where I would like them

I have also been teaching people about how to eat, supplement, and work-out while I have been here. My friend has been translating... I also did some massage work here on a couple swimmers there lats were overly tight and I showed them stretching techniques and how to do some massage work on each other. I also helped out a couple of older women by setting them up with some supplements and they were the ones who signed up for gym memberships. I am going to mail them some more supps and help them with some training stuff. I did find them a trainer here.

So overall.... besides being known as 'German', I guess I have influenced some people to work-out and look at their diet. The diet here is bad. Just because they have no idea how to eat. For instance supper last night was bread, butter, honey, and jam. There is hardly NO meat in the diet.

Well... Can't wait to get back to my gym next week and get back into my diet and regimen...

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Wow ... WOW .. mad kudos to you, for being the smart, informative, intelligent, helpful 'German' fellow redhead I know :) ...that is AWESOME for you to help them see the light :) ... of course with the fiesty side, which by all means is warranted in those given situations. lol.

I am sure you look great T ... IMO, this 'off' time with the diet (sorry if that is the wrong wording) will tremendously help you in your quest to add muscle & I am sure there will be obvious strength increases as well. I cannot wait to see the final result, you are a champion in the making, but you know that already :rose:

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

6) Taking smoke breaks between sets…. Hmmmm maybe this helps to kill more oxygen off the hemoglobin faster then just the work-out making them think they are getting a better one??
i'm sorry but i think this idiot should be #1......but your right...they all deserve mad props! lol

:wavey: Tre! I wanted to see if I could tap into your knowledge base. Have you heard of the body gem to test RMR? Any idea of accuracy? I remember that you had to blow into some contraption at Ballys to get yours way back when. Did you find that number to be beneficial? Did you use it to determine your daily calorie intake? I'm debating if it's worth paying $50 to get it done.

Yes ma 'am that was the body gem.
They are pretty accurate in determining your resting metabolic rate. That is what I used on all my clients and myself to work a diet around. You should have it redone every 6 months as your metabolism will change. Definitely worth the $50. My friend who went to my comp, I just did her's about 2 months ago and since then and figuring a diet out for her based off of that she has been dropping BF and gaining muscle. I should have one done again myself... it's been awhile. Just remember to get it done first thing when you wake up. Don't do anything throw clothes on, don't get your heart rate up, don't eat or drink (especially caffeine), and just try and stay calm. That is the most accurate way.

SEP 23 2006
Mood = Calm
Soreness = Definitely Legs

Food will be clean as always. Sticking with the same basic layout as all week, but moved around a bit.

Yeah I get to see mom today. Haven't seen her since JUNE!!!!!

Weights = Shoulders, abs (yesterday was chest and arms).

Notes:
1) Need to adjust arm work-out. Did the whole cable stack and needed to move up in weight yesterday. Either switch around the superset, or new exercises for me.
2) Adjust monday leg work-out

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Trying to get these darn things to grow! Shadow put together a plan but I'm in need of some adjusting because my body was getting immune to it and he has been mia. So this past week I switched it up a bit and I killed them... but what I have for thursday' leg work is to much so I need to add more to monday's...
Mon=hams, glutes, abs
Thurs = quads, calves
Right now
I would love to know what you think on plyos. I don't know a whole lot on them. I have read up on them and I did them last year during my bulk with my trainer, but what do you usually superset them with?

Clean diet is still rolling on over 1 week solid and no cravings. This week will work on posting macros and fine tuning work-outs.

Feel like Sh!T, I'm never going to get over this stupid cold.. feel like hurling, throat is still jacked.

Soreness = just a minor ache here or there, but pretty much recovered

Food =
I put together a weekday diet, and weekend diet
I was shooting for a 40-30-30 at 1800 cals. We'll see how this works, and it may be adjusted.
I have been having issues getting food in because I have no appetite, and now I can't even taste food so it doesn't even matter.

multi, saw palmetto, triflex, DHEA
M1 3/4C oatmeal, 5oz. chicken
M2 1 serving almonds
calcium/magnesium, Vitamin E and C
M3 5oz. chicken, 1C lettuce, 1/8C onion, 1/4C mushroom, 1C berries
M4 (42g) protein, 1C apple, 5g glutamine, NO2, 1 scoop powerade, amino acids
Weights
M5 (42g) protein, 5g creatine, 5g glutamine, 1 scoop powerade
M6 4 oz. Lean Turkey, 1C lettuce, 1/8C onion, 1/4C mushroom
M7 2T PB, 3 egg whites
1809 cals, 52g fat, 142g carb, 199g protein
46% protein, 27% fat, 27% carbs
If I need more carbs I'll drop my protein/fat to make the macros balance a bit more that way.

Weekend diet is still in the making.. but is pretty similar if I get the meals in me.

Notes:
Tonight Hams, Glutes, abs. This cold will not hold me back

This cold will not hold me back
Diet looking good. Glad to see the cold isn't getting you down.

Trying to get these darn things to grow! Shadow put together a plan but I'm in need of some adjusting because my body was getting immune to it and he has been mia. So this past week I switched it up a bit and I killed them... but what I have for thursday' leg work is to much so I need to add more to monday's...
Mon=hams, glutes, abs
Thurs = quads, calves
Right now
I would love to know what you think on plyos. I don't know a whole lot on them. I have read up on them and I did them last year during my bulk with my trainer, but what do you usually superset them with?

I like to take an exercise like extensions, curls, squats whatever you want and superset it with a ploy type lower body exercise like pop squats, 50 m long jump leaps, jump sqauts, lateral skip squats & jump lunges.

I do the same thing on chest days, I superset ie) bench press with mountain climbers where I am getting my heart rate up, and not allowing an active recovery. This may not what your after, but just to switcher up its nice and a good leg shaver! :)

Have you had any type of surgery JC? I would suggest you stay away from any unstationary movt's, such as those I suggested. Your putting your knee's in a unstable environment when u leave the ground, which makes you also more suceptable to land in imperfect angles, which could aggravate that injury or even worse cause more damage. Theres way aroud everything....you could superset with ball wall squats with no weight, triple threats (ham curls supine on ball) or repeated step ups for 30 secs to 1 min b/w sets........not sure if this is helping you...

Yup - I had ACL graft (cadaver graft) surgery & it will be 6 months post-op on Oct. 4th....

Just trying to get new ideas on legs since all my leg work must be uni-lateral (right leg only) 'cept for squats & SLDLs.....I won't do leg extensions tho....

Yep I used to do Plyos : Jump lunges, jump squats, jump partial squats, Jump step ups followed up with the butt blaster and something else... I don't recall.
Never super setted them though., Hmmmm may have to add those in later on down the road.....

Goal though is to try and build the legs up so they were not 'real' plyo's. So the idea was to explode up and then absorb the impact in the legs rather then explode back up. So I would jump up, absorb energy on contact, reposition myself, explode up and cycle through them that way. Form at the beginning of the move was concentrated on more then making sure timing was short between reps.

I agree with you on your suggestions to Jens as well. My thoughts exactly.
Thanks for the comments

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Plyo's are bodyweight exercises.... I'm sure you could add in light weight, or maybe like weighted ankle or wrist wraps, but for the most part it is not a 'strength' building type of exercise. Good for sports training and endurance athletes.
Yes, it can be a bit dangerous if you don't start, or land right which is why form was so important on what I was doing to prevent injury.
Anyone can add more info if they like!
