Recipe for protein bars?

Tuck

New member
Does anyone have a good recipe for protein bars?
I've been eating store-bought, but would love to try making my own.
I'm a vegetarian, so the recipe can't have eggs in it.
Anyone have a good one they can share?
Thanks

Soy protein - for your full AA profile. Maybe whole soybeans?
ANPB - the glue and flavor
Maybe Grade B Maple Syrup - for flavor and stickiness - not to mention good sugar source. Honey would be good too.
Rolled Oats
Peanuts
might need a little whole wheat flour or rice flour, soy flour, etc. to help hold it together
a little Sea Salt maybe for flavor.

Play around with it bro...you'll have fun and find a taste you like. Hell, you may end up with a product you can market and get on shelves. Then you can be RICH BITCH!!!!!!!!!!

i've tried to google for 'em, but every one i found has eggs in it. i can't wait for the cook book. is there going to be some stuff for vegetarians? or is it just for the meat eaters amongst us?

your google skillz are teh suck.

Quick and Easy No-Bake Peanut Butter Soy Protein Bars

Ingredients
1/2 cup roasted soybeans (or soy nuts)
1 cup brown crisp rice cereal or Rice Krispies
1 cup textured vegetable protein
1 pinch salt (but brings out flavor) (optional)
1/3 cup peanut butter
1/3 cup brown rice syrup
2 tablespoons sugar or evaporated cane juice evaporated cane juice sugar (bulk bin) or date sugar
Directions
1Line an 8 inch square pan with foil or parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
2Place soybeans in a food processor and pulse to chop. Alternatively, you may leave them whole or crush them slightly in a bag.
3Combine soy beans, brown rice crisp cereal and TVP. Toss with salt.
4In a microwave-safe mixing bowl, combine peanut butter, brown rice syrup and evaporated cane juice (or sugar). Heat on high in microwave for 1 minute, stopping to stir halfway through.
5Dump crunchy soy mixture into peanut butter mixture and stir until well coated. Press mixture tightly into pan.
6Chill for at least 2 hours or until firm.
7Score into 8 bars.

Gee, sounds kinda like the idea I gave you. I guess your reading skillz and imagination are on par with your google skillz too? :p

Go make some barz, lazy fucker.

Yes bro. I took care of the vegetarians as well. Keep in mind the book will have a monthly newsletter added to it. With new recipes and write ups every month if not more often.

Try taking 2 parts protein powder, 1 part honey, 1 part peanut butter,1/2 part cocoa powder. You can use natural peanut butter stirred, then form it and refridgerate it so it holds shape, you can add quick (smaller cut) oats. Years ago I read where the honey-peanut butter - protein powder was the original recipe for "Hoffmans Hi - Proteen Bars". It eats good just mixed up in a cup or bowl and is quick.

Damnit Needto if you don't come out with that f'ing book already....!!

:chainsaw:

If my thread about raw eggs got moved, then I'll be damned if this one stays in the aas forum. It is a good plug for needto's book though. Hey Needto...any idea yet what this book is going to cost :blow: :blow: :blow: :blow:

1 cup oatmeal
6 servings vanila protein powder
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup dried raisins
1/4 cup chopped almonds
1/2 cup wheat germ
3/4 cup hunny
1 cup anpb

directions are real simple. Mix all ingredents in a bowl. Place in a 20x15 backing dish or glass pan. pack down smooth and place in fridge. Let set for 15 mins and they are don.
These bars are addicting. They are so good my kids will eat 5 a peace before I have to tell them to stop

If sliced into 12 bars the mics will roughly be

300 cals per bar
12 grams of fat but 95% good fats any way
28 crams of carbs
35 grams of protein

Yaaaa still the master.
