Real-life "ground fighting"

Dont forget about all the dirty boxing tricks, and eye gouging, instep stomping, nose biting, headbutting ect,ect,ect...all the stuff us 155 pounders like to use in a streetfight!!

BBR you training with SBGi at the moment?.. I've some friends over there doing some seminars from SBG Ireland.

Yeah BJJ is good on the ground but in real life it only goes so far, and it's not as glamerous as on TV. I've been in BJJ for just over 10 years now but like someone else said, very rarely do you fight just one person. You take a guy down and his body comes up and kicks you in the head. Plus you can try all the submissions you want, in real life there are no rules and points don't count, I've seen a few BJJ guys who thought they where badass' and took a guy down who really didn't no how to fight and all he did was stick hi fingers in the guys eyes and it was over.

The guy who didn't know shit. I think I live in a town where people just like to generely scrap. Like I said I love BJJ and it is very effective but from all of my experience 90% of BJJ experts know the moves and are quite skilled and can control thheir opponent but what do they do when they get the submission hold on the guy.......you think in real life people tap. They may tap but then what.....you let them go and they clock you again, or stick theier fingers in your eyes.

gotta know how to transfer over the sport techniques into life saving techniques..

the main problem i see in how bjj guys train sport vs street is that in bjj tournys you have as much time as you need on the mat so there is no rush people play and fight for positions and trying to get the best advantage before trying for a sub...

in the street as soon as you are on the ground you have to hustle. you might not ahve the best set up but you dont want to waste time on the ground in a street fight..

if you are even thinking about 'tapping' in a street fight (meaning the other guy tapping) you are delusional! Snap the arm/leg/ankle whatever or choke and squeeze untilt you are 100% sure the guy is OUT then go home..

Yeah, I remember that was frustrating about BJJ...

I'd be in some guy's guard, and I could feel him slowly working a sub on me, and I'm thinking... "in reality I'm going to be wailing on your face with both my free hands"
