r-ala - how much

How much r-ala does everyone take - I will be starting it next week when I get it and not sure just how much should be taken - 100 mg for 30 g of carbs? ???

Is the recommended dosage for sugary carbs or carbs in general, such as potatoes, rice, breads, pasta, etc? Just wondering, cause I have been taking the dosage with all carb inclusive meals with the exception of meals comprised of protein/vegs. I get extremely tired afterwards and I am thinking the blood glucose level is dropping too low.

those are dosage guidelines.. and due to the fact that response will vary.. one may need to use less..

HOWEVER...

at first many will experience this effect as the body is used to producing a certain amount of insulin.. a homeostatic level in correspondence with your insulin sensitivity.. you have changed your sensitivity.. but it may take a bit for your body to adapt..

Interesting.... I've been taking 1000mg of r-ALA per day, with 1 or 2 100mg caps right before each of my meals. I only eat 100g of carbs each day. Am I using too much r-ALA? Is it even possible to use too much?

Macro, should I still take it with starchy carb meals (like pizza:p ) or just sugar carbs such as ice cream? I notice more of the tired feeling after a starchy carb meal rather than the sugars.

It may just be my body adjusting as you have mentioned but I am really curious as to if I should only take it with sugary carbs.

Thanks for all of the helpful info!

Skizac I would back off to only 1 cap before a meal if you are low on carbs. No you can't use too much but I would cut it to 1 cap/meal.

My girlfriend is currently using between 4-600mg r-ALA a day. Normally 1-200mg per meal.

She easily dropped from 123 lbs to 118 lbs without any other change in her diet or exercise patterns.

Her only complaint had been that 300 mg r-ALA DOES make her dizzy and 'headachy'... onset of symptoms seems to be only 10-15 minutes from when she takes her caps.

She's limited herself to 200mg max and has had no symptoms since.

I just got R-ALA today and I just took 1 capsule with a 40g carb meal. I am really tired right now. How fast did SofaGeorge's girlfriend drop that weight?
