R-ala before a 5k race

i getting ready for a 5k race on thanksgiving morning. when should i start carb loading and is it smart to take r-ala with my carbs?

also what would be the optimal dose of caffeine before the race? what about t-rex?

i ran the course today as my final hard run. i went out alittle too hard and struggled up the hills towards the end. i timed myself at 19:12

i'm hoping with plenty of rest and the right amount of carbs before the race i can run it in the upper 18's
 
getting ready for a 5k race on thanksgiving morning. when should i start carb loading and is it smart to take r-ala with my carbs?since i'm assuming you're not in ketosis; lowering blood sugar before a long intense exercise session is not the way to go; you can increase carb intake but dont' overdo the rala b/c lower blood sugar will usually lead to a form of fatigue

also what would be the optimal dose of caffeine before the race? what about t-rex?I would do a few 00 mgs, about 200-400 for caffeine

morning of the race..... should i take in solid food for carbs or just gatorade?

its only 3.1 miles so i only need 19 minutes of fuel
 
u gonna be competitive here? or is this just a charity thing?
 
morning of the race..... should i take in solid food for carbs or just gatorade? dextrose, some protein and some gatorade would be a good mix, dont' eat too much or you'll have a problem running
