Question on replacement bars

My days are pretty full, and sometimes i'd rather have a bar instead of a shake. What i'm wondering is if any one else eats the bars could give me any feedback on them, or any recommendations. I'm bulking, iso i need every little bit of protein i can get, and figure that i could ADD in a bar or two a day and get a bit extra carbs/protein.

K for any help, Mike

Can't help you, but I'm curious for feedback on the same thing.. Although, I'm not bulking :) But would like to use a bar occasionally when a sweet craving comes along. What kind of bar do you use?

I've tried the apex bars, they were awesome, a little low on protein, but they tasted great. I can't find them locally any more, so i'm venturing to something else.

i liked the trioplex bars even thought the tests showed up different then lable claims.i have not tried them yet but eas has a new bar out not exactly sure the name but they sounded good also there is a new bar called kong bar which i thought was good i dont eat them regularly but sometimes you need something quick and convienient hey fitnessgrl you look hot in the avatar nice work

No question that the nitrotech and EAS carb sense bars are the best nutritionally by far. I did a lot of research, samlpes, etc and found these two take the cake. I used a half a day to satisfy my cravings, but just didn't cut it. Maybe it was the thought that all that glycerol and garbage fillers were in there and I'd be better off with something else (i.e. food or shake)......get a bar with sub 3% sat. fat, at least 30g of protein, and sub 2g of sugar......those are the two I found.....AAB makes a zero sugar bar that's decent too....

Make your own so you'll know exactly what is in them - there are plenty of recipes on the elite. I make twelve at a time - each has 42g of protein and no sugar. :)

the best tasting ones ive had are (and ive had a lot):

1. storm bars
2. bio gold bars chocolate mint crunch
not necessarily the healthies but they taste pretty damn good

eat big

thanks for the info guys.

I'm gonna try making my own tomorrow using a recipe i found.

We'll see how that turns out

I'd recommend a recipe that requires freezing/refrigerating the final product as opposed to baking which will destroy the protein. The store-bought bars are all cooked - which is the reason I would never buy any.
