an underhand grip on deadlifts is more risk for a torn bicep... it is usually the bi that gets injured when lifting mixed... with that said i dont even think ive ever seen anyone deadlift with both underhand...
overhand is the way to go until you have to switch to mixed, which is the strongest...
i do almost all my sets, even the lighter ones mixed, to keep that grip strong... seeing as you are lifting for power/strength, imo this is best...
