Question for all of the Personal Trainers

How much do you charge per session? How do you advertise your business? What Insurance do you have if any?

The reason i am asking is because i want to compare rates in different states.

I'm not a trainer, but I can tell you the rates that some of my friends charge ..

One charges $35 an hour, but he also works full time and doesn't need insurance (gets it from his full time job) .. doesn't advertise at all, but he is a little twirp who's knowledge is questionable even though he passed the ACE exam.

The better one charges $50 an hour, does advertise occassionally in the paper when clients are low. No insurance there either (but he's very young and a part time student)

Thanks Johnny i have graduated with an BS in Exercise Phys and i do have a Cert but no insurance at the present time.

I'm not a trainer either but I've paid for them. The girl I used charged $30.00 per hour. I'm not sure about insurance..

in SF, LA, or NYC, you'll find trainers charging up to $100/hr. Keep in mind though these are top-notch guys. If you live in the boonies, expect 30$ on up. It depends on the demographics. But if you charge a lot, you better good, motherfucker.

brother in law pays 30/hour in New Orleans, but signed a contract for 40 sessions or so?

ACE, NFPT, NASM Certified with insurance thru NFPT, 1,000,000 liability for $99 per year.
