question about Yasmin???

I am not sure if that is the correct spelling or not..

it is birth control

My question is:

My girl is on it and has been for about 3 months. she has the worst mood swings and her breast hurt her everyday. (and I'm a breast man, so this sux)!!

this has done worse things for her that really out weigh the bennifits...

she wants to go off of them and spoke to her OBGYN, the doc told her to just quit cold turkey....

but wouldn't that mess her all up??
I mean I have done test. and I know that when you stop it messes you all up and gets all your true levels all screwed up, does this have the same effect for a woman????
will she suffer any sides if she just stops it all cold turkey???
or should she slowly adjust her intake to help her system come back to normal???

I've never heard of anyone tapering off birth control.

Maybe just take them until you get to your "period" week and just never start again or change brands.

I dropped my oral BC cold turkey when I started cutting and didn't have any problems. I had been using it straight for 10 years, so I don't think dropping it after 3 months will cause problems. If anything, she'll probably see immediate relief from her symptoms.

I'd been considering using Yasmin when I'm done cutting - looks like I might have to reconsider.

I just satrted yasmin today.

its meant to be great for not gaining weight b/c its got a duirectic (sp?) in it.

my doc said it shouldnt affect breast tenderness...has your g/f put on weight from it?

ive been using Yasmin for almost a year, and i have had great results from it .... no weight gain at all, cleared up my skin nicely, etc. i hope your GF is ok now...i dont think you need to taper of BC either, but you should read the package insert that the comes with the medication just in case.
