Q's about glucophage, glucose reading's,& quik ketosi

Yes, please get a full panel of endocrine tests including fasting glucose challenge. And I also agree you should lay off the ripped fuel. It should not be used as a 'crutch' to get you through your workouts.

Ana, if you are borderline typeII diabetic you should avoid a cyclical keto diet because short term high fat diets will worsen your condition. Same really if you're hypoglycemic. So it's a good idea to find out what's up with your body and design a diet to suit. Let us know how you go....

what are your goals here?! I don't like the looks of this diet your on at all. Protein is way too low, fat is way too high. Where did you come up with this?

I'm not in ketosis yet. I 've been under 20 g. of carbs since thursday.

This morning right out of bed I wanted to check my glucose reading without Glucophage....it was 81.

When yesterday after I ate some salmon and lettuce and after I had already taken Glucophage like 2 hours earlier the reading was 65.

Today I did not take Glucophage....I want to get in to ketosis naturally, I don't care how long it takes.

I'm just so done w/ drugs I don't need.

Piracetam is o.k. though, right?

The thyroid panel is a good idea. Both my mom and sister are low thyroid and now I have also found out mine is low aswell. One thing most people don't know is that even borderline low thyroid in diabetics can cause major difficulties in stabilizing blood sugar. This can also be true for non-diabetics although the fluctuations will be more minor.

Also, Ana, it looks to me as though the glucophage is causing the fluctuations in your blood sugar to be worse so I'd stay off and let your body find its baseline again.

I stopped taking the Glucophage. I want to get into ketosis naturally.

After 5 days I was not getting into ketosis while on Glucophage....Now I'm trying it without Glucophage.

Today is day two. I did my whole body elimination workout for 2 hrs. yesterday and found myself in bed til 1 pm. this afternoon(on greece time) very sore and tired.

For breakfast I had...1 egg with a chopped hotdog, sour cream and chives on top. I put alot of cayenne on top of that.

Lunch was a huge chef salad, so dinner will only be a spoonful or two of real cream cheese.
Must get into ketosis.

I'll tell the results of blood test and thyroid panel soon.

This makes no sense. This kind of shit will make you feel like shit and could possibly screw you up big time. Why are you doing this???????????????????????

What do you mean? I stopped taking glucophage.
That's it.

I figure I don't want to control my body w/ a pill hoping it will bring me into ketosis quicker when I can do it myself naturally.

I go back to visit my parents for 2 weeks in the U.S. in 3 weeks...I can't bring Glucophage w/ me so I decided to take myself off of it.

If your refering to my wacky dieting behavior well......

1. It could be my BF making me feel like I HAVE to be a certain way.

2. This way of eating is fine for me. I enjoy it. What do you want a menu? Tonight I had broiled salmon on romaine lettuce w/ homemade blue cheese dressing...that doesn't sound unhealthy does it?

3. My workouts are exhaustive anyway....the whole body torture session I did the other day was to get rid of stored glycogen...

Anything else? The blood test and thyroid panel will be done next week since I've just recently moved into my apartment here in Greece.

Chuck 48, explain.
Have you ever been in ketosis? I mean for atleast 1 month, not 1 week.
Well it feels great ONCE your body adjusts, which takes around 1 month.
Appetite suppresion(sp?), euphoric high, increased dopamine levels, more energy, no highs and lows from carbs and no cravings. Oh yeah and weightloss.

I don't like that carby look if you know what I mean.

Don't be mad at me, I'm getting it together...
