Protein shake for breakfast

I'm trying to cut weight I've done the heavy lifting bulking stage but now I want to trim out and do abs more and get that 6 pack. I've eaten like crap for a long time now so eating healthy thing is new but I know how important breakfast is so is a protein shake sufficient enough of a breakfast for the day?

What are your stats right now (I.e. age, height, weight, years training, what you are currently eating, etc...)?

I would say no to be honest. The best thing you can do is eat real food. Proteins, fruits and veggies are what you should be looking to consume. If you were to have a protein shake that contained fruits and veggies and things like that it might be alright but on the whole aim to eat real foods.

If you look through this section you can find really good ideas for meals and get good recommendations.

I'm 28 I was at 225lbs when I was into lifting heavy but with running and eating better I'm down to 190lbs I want to lose the belly fat I still have but don't want to take in a lot of calories

It depends on the shake. You need a healthy breakfast regardless. My shake is one scope of low carb protein powder (100 calories) one cup skim milk, (90 calories) one spoon of natural peanut butter (80 calories and frozen fruit (blueberries, peaches, strawberries, bananas) 50 calories. This is less than 350 calories, it is healthy and it will fill you up until your next meal. Also has over 30 grams of protein.

See that is more of a breakfast shake then just a protein shake. A lot if micronutrients and aminos, vitamins and healthy fats. Throw some wheatgrass in there or something like that and you have one he'll of an anabolic breakfast shake.

That's a good shake Rebecca.

I do a shake like this:

2 scoops protein
1 tblspoon all natural peanut butter
2/3 cup carb countdown chocolate milk
1/3 cup oats
1 banana
4-5 ice cubes

This shake is amazing.

I guess I'm just lazy in the morning and don't want to make anything haha but when I make shakes after workout I do this.

1 scoop vanilla protein
V8 smoothie juice about a cup
Strawberries
2 tablespoons of oats
Frozen blueberries
Half an orange
A teaspoon of honey

So if I would make this for breakfast it would be sufficient enough to substitute breakfast? On my off days from work I make a real breakfast but need something quick before work...

Yeah that would work better

if you are cutting - 2 scoops of whey protein and a banana would be fine.

have some lean protein and greens 2 hours later.

Yea I'm trying to cut that's why I don't want to take in a lot of fats or calories. I'll try the protein and banana thing for a week or 2 and see how it works. I eat a lot of greens throughout the day so that's not a problem it's just breakfast that I don't do well with
