New member
just wondering what all u bros Protein Powder of choice is?

ps-thought I would post it here for better replies ;)

metrx berry blast, every other metrx is horrific i know but berry blast is unreal. muscle milk vanilla in close second tied with mass tech vanilla

I usually use Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey.
My favorite was Supertech brand, but it came off the market a few years ago.

Just switched to Muscle Milk from Optimum Nutriion 100% Whey. The taste is amazing....hasn't been that long for me to notice any difference in quality(although I'm sure theres none).

Same here I buy the 10lb bags that shit is awesome best I've found personally and I've tried a lot of em.

Optimium Nutrition Gold Standard Whey. 24 g protein per serving, 155 servings for 50$ online. Can't go wrong with that.

Isopure Strawberries and cream is the best I've ever had. 50g whey isolate per serving, 0 carbs. Real easy to drink.

That's what I have too. I think it still tastes kind of like hot garbage, but, what can you expect from 50g of protein, and no carbohydrates. It mixes real nice, though.

Optimum Nutrition's Whey Stawberry in the AM, and post workout..... Muscle Milk's Chocolate Milk Flavor for Meal Replacements if needed throughout the day......

rizz

Muscle milk for my pwo, before prewo I take whey concentrate by fitness labs.

My usual shake, I take three times a day... I make a pitcher in the morning equalling approx 7.5-8 cups... I usually pound one in the morning, and put the other two in the fridge for later... I figure I might as well give out the shake recipe instead of just what brand!! :Chef:

5 scoops GNC 100% whey vanilla 100g of protein ~20g carbs ~600 cals
2-2.5 cups milk ~16-20g protein ~26-33g carbs ~220-275 cals
1 cup of yogurt ~10g protein ~45g carbs ~240 cals (rasberry peach usually)
1 cup of cottage cheese ~26g protein ~8g carbs ~180 cals
1 cup frozen rasberries ~1g protein ~20g carbs ~80 cals
1 banana (usually frozen) 1g protein ~30g carbs ~110 calories

for a total of approx 155g protein ~150g carbs ~1500 cals

mind you I also eat other food... but this is my favorite snack, 3 times a day
:) it's also pretty f'n delicious!! give it a whirl!!

Sounds good, I'll have to try it with the cottage cheese and rapberries.

Me too, it is a good price and doesn't taste bad.

I've been using the Six Star supplements lately, the are cheaper and pretty good from what I have seen so far. I can only find them at Walmart or Target though. I think it's like $15 for 34 servings.

Simms beef jerky is also pretty good between meals. There's 0.5g total fat, 85 calories, 15g protein and 4g carbs per 1 oz. serving. It's good and tough so you work your jaw muscles as you chew.

for you isopure fans, how does the fruit flavour taste in water?

I ask because every shake ive tried tastes awful in water, so i have to have it in milk. Id love to have a isolate shake that tastes nice in water!!

BTW. Dymatize elite for me, delicious! muscle milk is unbelievably nice
im also a fan of Nutrisport 90+ quality isolate! tastes good in milk too.

You know, it's not gonna taste like cake. It's not too bad though, i used to prefer the taste of Strawberries and cream in milk. Still do. I was going through alot of milk that my kids needed and that's not cool. So if you try it in water you'll get used to it real quick and if not, the stuff is so thin that you can slam it in a second.

I was hooked on Metrx & Myoplex for years, but Im a huge fan of Muscle Milk now..Chocolate Carmel Pecan and Orange Cream are my favs.

Cookies and Cream...Hands down lol :p

Here, where I live, Portugal, I can 2kgs of Isopure for 60 euros...still expensive but its worth it... my favorite flavour: pineapple

I only use Isopure postworkout
On my daily shakes or with oatmeal I use 100% ON vanilla
And at night I use micellar casein from Protein Factory with glutamine peptides

If you have that "snack" three times a day, not counting meals, you must weigh about 350 pounds.

Optimum Nutrition 100% whey is my standard. I used to use Muscle Milk, but just could drop fat with that stuff. It is delicious, but the ON stuff is better to me for ripping up. And yeah I put my ON protien powder in pancake mix when I make em for my kids and I.

best i can get it for is 900g (2lb) for 24pounds, dymatize whey is 28 for 5lb. Ill probably invest in some isopure for this cutter anyway

nope no 350 here... but I train like a madman and forcefeed the machine... I own my own company and mostly just oversee and direct projects now and collect my check! leaving me with alot of time on my hands to eat/train/rest!!

I'm actually 5'8 180lbs and cut... I'm fairly strong for my weight... always have been... I shoulder shrug 585 lbs for reps... leg press 1080 (24 plates) for reps and bench 250 for reps... I almost always train alone, unless my brothers in town, so no spotters ie no real maxes... but those are pretty close to what my maxes would be... I could go more on my leg press but that is all I can fit on the machine!! haha!! an it still gives me all the workout I need... I wrestled Division 1 in college and now I lift and train in MMA ... lookin forward to my first cage fight mid summer... if I can get it scheduled... if not I may have to wait until I get back from my year of training in Russia which I'll be leaving for mid-summer

btw that is what the total amount that I mix up in my blender... and then divide it to three equal portions meals are more carbs ie some kind of pasta maybe with a little tuna or chicken... or rice and chicken... sometimes a sandwhich... and sometimes though rarely I make only enough for 2 servings of protein shake... I did that today... but I ate pretty good otherwise...

sorry for the lengthy response but ya kinda asked :) and it gave me something to do while I was pounding my last shake of the day!!

whats the deal with cell tech though? Only reason I ask is cuz that sh*t used to be all the craze back in the day...but i never really jumped on the bandwagon, anyone actually think that "stuff" is any good?

Pro complex from Optimun nutrition in the morning, 100% whey immediatly after training and some times muscle milk before going to bed..

Muscle milk is a glorified milk Shake

that being said I drink it on occasion :)

Eggwhites, Chicken Breasts are my main stay

I use the ON stuff too. Except before bed its ISS Research Micellar Casein. THe banana is the best tasting protein I've ever found. I would double up on it if it wasn't so friggin expensive

Another source of protein exclusive to folks from around my neck of the woods is the tap water. There's all kinds of little tiny fuckin things floating around in it so I'd assume that it must be some sort of protein. Sure looks like it. (Love Canal was about 5 miles from where I hang my hat sooooo there ya go.) That would explain my freakishly large johnson and swinging pendulous balls.

Looks like ON whey 100% is gonna take it unless there are some others...speak now or forever hold your peace

Muscle Milk (the powdered kind) gets my vote for pre-workout and bedtime shakes...

Otherwise, AM, Mid-day, and Post workout will be a simple whey protein either from Protein Factory or ON

Like only1eagle said ISOPURE is going to be the best choice, its expensive but if you want the best its 100% whey isolate also has a ton of vitamins, glutamine, isoleucine, betalactogloban and BCAA's (branched chain amino acids) 50g of protein in 2 scoops i wont use anything else, except for Cell Tech Nightime but thats only before bed

Just wanted to say, yes, musclemilk is delicious. It is a nice mrp when you are moderate to low carbs. I'm not talking strict low low carbs, but it has a nice amount of healthy fats, which works best with lower carbs imo. I think the idea behind it is to somewhat mimick the old Rheo Blair protein from the old days. His stuff was slower digesting and mixed with lots of fat to "coat" the protein and help it digest well and slowly. Personally, I use whatever is cheap and just make my own tasty shakes with peanut butter added (when I'm doing lower carbs).

Just wanted to thank all the bros with all the good feedback...im pretty sure all the proteins mentioned are of the highest quality...and my ON whey has just arrived so I am siked...lol
