Protein Bars

I work a busy job, I hate prepping food although I'll do it because that's just what it takes. However, there is something to be said for the convenience of a protein bar. I bought a box of "Protein 32" last night. According to the package (which I understand isn't necessarily the bible), it's a net affect of 4g carbs, 2g sugars. I find it hard to believe...because the bar I'm eating right now is completely killing my craving for chocolate in every way possible it's so fantastic.

Any thoughts? Keep in mind I hate whey and would pretty much rather drink anything else on earth except for that.

Here's the readout:

Calories - 284
Protein - 32g (what gave it away? ;))
Fat - 6g
Carbs - 28g (Total Carbs = 28, Glycerine & Maltitol = 24g, Net Affect = 4g...apparently)

I have never been one to buy into the net effect a carb is a carb when I am counting them. Nothing wrong with a protien bar every now and then but try to stick to the real foods IMO

regardless of what it says on the label, its been processed and has tried to 'fit' into this 'net carb' thing which is essentially a marketing ploy. Still a hunk of processed stuff which makes it sometihgn that shouldnt' be a regular part of your diet & strictly for convenience.

Yep, fair enough. As I thought. I suppose that I feel like I am running out of new ideas for protein. I will just have to get creative in terms of what's clean and how I can spice it up on a weekly basis.

Yeah that "net carb" thing was basically just made up....it really depends on the individual as to whether those "fake carb" get used or just shuttled out or not....

Do you like cottage cheese?? That's a handy small meal with little to no prep....it's good topped with sunflower kernels or tomatoes or pineapple....

Yes. Love it. I'm out right now, and flat tire on my truck or I'd go get some...but next time I make it to the store I plan on buying some.

What about Allegro skim milk cheese? Thoughts on that?

I don't know anything about that cheese myself.....Just try thinking of stuff that you can eat at your desk.....

What kind of show are you thinking of doing??
