protein bars protein shakes ??? what kinds do you like to see when you walk in a gym?

those abb nitro force thermo drinks and some of the recovery drinks are very nice, although expensive..................a good gym, won't sell bars, as they are 110% junk.....however, they could be a good $$ producer for the people that use them, i just dont touch them...as for muscle milk, no reason for a gym to carry that, if anything, it's a prebed, or morning shake...not around training........

Any energy drink would probably be a good investment. Red Bull, Amp, and No Fear are my favorites. Most serious BB'ers are probably taking caffeine pills, eca, etc. but just regulars would prob go for those.

Also a good idea would be to sell milk! I haven't seen any gym do this but it would be awesome b/c then you could just bring your shaker with the powder in it and get cold milk at the gym to mix it at the end of your workout.

Agreed with jkurz1, the ABB brand is a good one to carry. Speaking strictly from a business standpoint, which I take from the original post is the crux of the question. They have a wide variety, enough to appeal to most all scenarios, and mostly decent tasting.

when you walk into a gym what kind of energy bars or protein bars do you like to see so you can grab for an extra boost of energy??????

From a business standpoint:
  • Champion Nutrition SnacBar
  • Chef Jay's Peanut Butter Rage Bars
  • Chef Jay's Tri-O-Plex Bar
  • Dendy's B2B Sustained Energy Bars
  • EAS Myoplex Lite Bar
  • EAS Myoplex Deluxe Bar
  • ISS Research Oh Yeah! Bars
  • Labrada Lean Body Cookie Bars
  • MET-Rx "Big 100" Food Bar
  • Muscletech MESO-Tech Bar
  • N-Joy High Protein Brownies
  • N-Joy Protein Cookies
  • PBL Pure Omega 3 Protein Bar
  • PowerBar ProteinPlus Bar
  • Promax Bar
  • Promax Oat-Rageous
  • Universal Animal Snak Bar
From a personal standpoint I wouldn't want to see any of these in my gym or see people using them as, technically, there is no such thing as a 'protein bar'. The protein to carb ratio for most bars on the market is 1:2 or, at best, 1:1. This makes them carb bars. What protein is contained within these extruded blocks is usually from low quality, denatured sources and held together with hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, sugar syrup, and atrificial sweeteners and colourings.

What about protein if you where to go with some namebrand type protein what would you want to pick up????

For a namebrand product: Nature's Best Isopure

energy Drinks????? whats good??????

Again, from a business standpoint, all of the following carb-based energy drinks.
  • Cytosport Cytomax
  • Endurox R4
  • NOW Carbo Gain
  • Optimum Glyco Load
  • PowerBar Endurance Sport Drink
  • PowerBar Performance Recovery Drink
  • Prolab Carb Pro
Personal view is that they are all based around maltodextrin and dextrose (which is fine) but they may also contain fructose and sucrose. For individuals who are not familiar with nutrition, these types of products can pose problems for them in achieving their goals. They also pose risks to individuals with diabetes or hypoglycemia.

For caffeine based energy drinks:
  • Ripped Force
  • Red Bull
  • Full Throttle
  • Jolt
  • Krank
  • Vault
  • Surge
  • Red Flash
If you are going to promote any of the above to members of your gym then you should also have to explain the associated risks with consuming (high content) caffeine based products especially if you are also promoting thermogenic supplements.

From a business standpoint, the muscle milk RTD cartons are popular and Red Bull sugar free for energy, like pretty much everyone else said its all mostly junk but i most often see people with those two products.

Don't know about the muscle milk RTD's being big sellers, but I know the taste of them is awesome. The chocolate milk shake is worth slapping your mother over! ;)
