Protein Bars - Best bar for price?

been surfing round the net for some good bars and there are tons to pick from. I was just wondering What bars are loaded with protien that dont cost $10 a bar. :)
 
I might be wrong, I haven't actually had one in a while, but I thought they were around 30g. I've been eating designer lately. When you said Pure Protein, it brought back memories!

how much are u paying for those designer bars???
and do u think these bars even do anything, i've always wondered that?

I but them at different places...I think the ones at my gym are $2.00. Why wouldn't they do anything?

ive read threads in the past saying that the protein from protein bars cant be absorbed as well as the shakes and that they are a waste of money...:rolleyes:

I know muscle tech is crap but there nitro-tech bars have 35grams of protein per bar and only 9 carbs per bar so there i think the higest amount of protein per bar but they are exspensive. They taste good though i ate 12 in 3 days .
 
Whats up people I'm new to this board and thought I would comment here.

Two weeks ago I bought two boxes of designer protein bars of the chocolate malted muscles flavor--they are excellent! They have 30 grams of protein (majority of which is WHEY!) and only 7 carbs--2 being sugar and 3.5 grams sat fat(5total).

I eat one when I get up in the morning before class and then drink isopure low carb after workout.
(got the bars on the web for $24 a box plus $5 ship total.

Great Stuff!

I pay around 22 bucks for designer/ pure protein/ solid protein and lean body for a 12 pack box

This store lets me mix em up which is cool.
 
check out ebay for protein bars.

type in "nutrition" or a brand name, hit "search" and stand back!!!

i've bought met-rx, carb solutions, designer protein, all at a cheaper price than GNC.

its not hard to beat GNC's prices:)
 
The Myoplex Low Carb is the best I have tried. It has 30g protein, 3 carbs, and 6 fat. It is also a change from chocolate. I eat the Apple Cinnamon and the Lemon Cheesecake.
 
The best protein bar that you can buy is the Premier 8 bar. It has 32g protein, 8g carbs, and you can find them for less than a buck at a lot of places. The Lemon flavor is my favorite one, they're grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat. If you're just going for taste and not worried about price, then I think designer protein's lemon bars are pretty good. You could make your on for a lot less. Here's my recipe:

1 box of reduced calorie brownie mix
All the ingredients that the box calls for x2
300g of protein powder

While these may not be perfect, they're pretty hard to beat for the price. I also like to make protein pudding using fat free, sugar free jello pudding, it's really good.
 
Near me, Musclemag is the place to go for supplements. They have the cheapest prices I have ever seen! Also, I found a sale on Met-rx bars at half off last month and made out like a thief on them! 15 for a 12 pack, regularly 2 bucks+ a bar. Question: What's the best TASTING bar, in everyone's opinion?
 
I think met-rx is the best tasting bar IMO...

Do u think if u make your own protein bars/pudding that they are as good a protein sourse as a protein shake???:rolleyes:
 
met-rx and pure protien are by far the worst tasting things ever. Very chalky.
Natures Best - Solid Protien kick some serious ass
31g protien
11g Carbs
1g Sugar

They make two different sizes. Smaller ones come with 20g and the bigger ones have 31g of protein.

I love the Pure Protein "Smores" and "Choc. Chip", the "Blue Berry Cheesecake" is also pretty good.

Designer double chocolates bar is the shit! Stay away from the lemon flavor one though...taste horrible.

Man, I can't believe how many people LIKE those pure protein bars. YUCK! They are disgusting.

I would rather eat to meso tech bars which are actually almost better than candy or cake. Or at least as good. And I get them for 2.50 a bar.

best bang for the buck is "protein 21" bar 21g protein
and you get 12 for $8.99. Thats .75 cents a bar!

eat two and you have 42 grams for $1.50

they are good too. (not lemon)
 
i think it only has 25g of protein but if you ask me the best tasting bar by far is Meso-Tech Peanut butter chocolate. They are really good.

Met-Rx - chocolate chip cookie dough - about $2 a bar
both taste good
