Proper form on front squats

Any links or videos to proper form? Main question is about proper placement of the olympic barbell in regards to upper body - where should the bar go - and positioning to hold it there with arms/hands.

In a nutshell, after squatting today I figured I'd hit some additional quad and hammy work, with front squats for quads and I'm not sure if I was following proper form. I have never done them before and want to make sure that I'm doing them right.

Okay, that is basically what I was trying to do. I had my arms sticking out in front of me but was trying to cross my hands, right hand to left side, left had to right side, with the olympic bar resting where he had it. is that not correct? did that even make sense?

Problem was that I was sweating and wearing sleeveless dri-fit nike shirt and the olympic bar felt like it was wanting to "slide" forward.

QQ, you can do them zercher style, from a clean position, across the shoulders...whatever. Just try not to let your knees come TOO far forward.

Put your pretty boy shirts aways and get some chalk. ;)

that is why the clean grip as shown above is teh safest way to do it. THe bodybuilder way you use is pretty dangerous, the bar can slip down without warning.

With te cleangrip you jam it right against your throat and your hands stop it from going anyway, plus the elbows are higher up.

The way yoru doing them it's not easy to hold onto the bar. Best way is to get some straps and put them on the bar. rack the bar as per the clip and hold onto the straps
