Probolic 12 hour protien

What do you guys think of this stuff? I have heard really good things about it in magazines but they are usually hype. When is the best time to take it? Morning or before bed?

me personally i believe that "time-released" protien is overhyped garbage. i dont see how protein can be "magically" time released anyway cuz i dont think its possible. even if it where possible and the average scoop is 36 g of protein which be 3 g of protien per hour which would be pretty much useless! dont spend your money on over priced crap. if you need protein before bed try a casein-based protein before you go to sleep as it absorbs much slower than whey and after workouts use regular whey and a dextrose combo. not trying to flame bro but why do you read those magazines anyway? there is all kinds of info right here on this board and its from real people and its free. no flame intended. my .02 :p

the company probably has a blend of different types of protein, casein, whey isolate, etc. which are absorbed at different rates. in essence time released is just a fancy way of advertising varying absorption rates.

Save your money bro, that stuff is probably way way overpriced. For your whey protein go with optimum nutrition (rocky road is EXCELLENT!). It has a great taste and mixes well. You absorb it pretty quickly so it's somethin you'd want to include in your post-work shake (along with some dextrose).

At night you need a slow digesting protein to prevent as much catabolism as possible. Casein is perfect for this, I drink it every night before bed. Optimum nutrition sells 100% Casein protein. You need a blender to mix it well, you won't be able to mix it by hand. You can go to walmart and get this personal mixer thing for like 10-15 bucks. It's made by hamilton beach and is perfect for protein shakes, ESpECIALLY casein.

If you need a place to get those protein products or have any other questions, shoot me a PM and I can refer yah to a couple places.

The benefit of such proteins is that they can supposedly feed your muscles and body with the protein at times when you cant - so the best time to take it is before you go to bed, as you won't be consuming any protein for around eight hours.

I'd say unless you're really hardcore and very well developed already, that this kinda stuff is a bit over the top and pointless. I just have a big glass of warm milk before bed! :)
