dang, calling me "rough" like juliet lewis is kind of harsh. Oh well, I have a great personality...lol.

Hey, I post up pics at nearly 40 with no makeup. How rough can I really be?

the problem here is....when guys get way down low on bf to show off their hard work, their faces also thin out and loose their attraction.

also, many/most guys posting pics here only show from the neck on down.

having spent my entire "adult" life "checking out the competition", my suggestions here are jon (if would smile more) and swole for the best looking elite male face. :artist:

You sure know lots about the "attractive qualities" of doods.

just sayin'

long term readers here KNOW "i call's 'em as i seeeez 'em".

unlike SOME eliters who hide out and refuse to be seen in public; "I" have no problems saying what i think and enjoying the company of friends and some fellow eliters.

Yes, but long time readers also know that there have been some very attractive ladies who posted their face up in the past and it had negative real life repercussions, impacting them in a professional way.

Really, I mean, I just think that the internet has become culture, that revealing identity would become okay, I mean what may be a cultural faux pas 3 or 5 years ago, now seems okay since technology and culture are becoming so intertwined, and cultural change is accelerating in accord with time. Basically because we don't really observe the changes and take them for granted, culture is changing so fast and now it seems that posting pics would be more okay, becaue identity is becoming more attached to online culture... I know this isn't really a practical obsevation, but this thought just appeared, and so yeah.

You know. I have to agree. I have been asked before why I would put a picture of my face on the internet or on here, in particular. My response is that I don't wear a burka in real life where thousands of people see me. Why would I refuse to show my face on a website for a few hundred?

The woman I'm thinking of was another lawyer, too. Corporate I think. Maybe old timers could tell you the story, it was a bit before my time here, so I don't know the exact details and don't want to mis-tell tales out of school.

Yeah, I guess other prejudices about things could get someone in trouble, and of course statements one makes on the web.

My dad still says that anyone you meet on the internet has to be a "weirdo"...lol. To which I reply, "Dad, but I'm on the internet." Maybe that proves his point...lol.

I want to hear this story.

I should get points if COTB agrees with me, that would be good upgrade, COTB +1 karma, anyway, I'm digressing here, but online culture has changed the way we identify with each other, like for example I know more about your personal story-cat pee, sari, teepee, snackcake love- seagrave newguything- more than peeps I work with for the most part, so where your identity was more based on location, due to internet, there is a funny thing going on with personal idenity... that I haven't really nailed down yet... my main point is what once is that I think as we move forward in time, culture and identity are becoming more dependent on online activity... so it just seems that it is currently okay to reveal more of who you are online, than it was in the past, and in the future, our identity will become even more entrenched with online communication... this all happens almost invisible to us because we take it for granted... only a very few predicted just 12 years ago that we would connected to each other as we are right now, and so in the next 12 years who knows how our own identities will change as we become more entrenched in an ever changing culure thourgh technology...
Thats said, heather, you are a hawtie in my book.

Thanks!

Yes, I agree with all of this.

You know, I am often criticized for spending too much time online, but I find more people online to whom I can relate than I do in my town. I am in a town in which I don't really fit in with the demographic.

I have only now in the past year been comfortable with any of my pictures or even my name being online

actually, I still will only use certain letters my last name on social sites because I dont know if I want to be googled, or found by anyone

I dont see any reason why I would be scared - but I was....uneasy about it.

I want to hear this story.
I think Samoth has been here long enough, ask him about Bubbles. If he doesn't know AAP should, he usually knows all the dish.

I could be wrong, like I said, I didn't witness the situation personally so I'm playing whisper down the lane as it is.

They always warn us not to have anything in bad taste on our Myspace/Facebook pages because employers like to look at them before making an offer.

Cindy the shit u have to go through on a nightly basis would make me fearless bout anything else, I mean the volume would be turned down on other shit, compared to that paralysis old lady asking me for my pillow type shit... Chronic bed wetting is what my thread would be about if I were in your shoes, but yeah, I agree, I don't like being googled, and am kinda uneasy bout people knowing shit like how many traffic tickets I have, speeding violations, how many times I've had power turned off for not paying bills on time due to being a dumbass, just basic embarrassing shit like that... yeah I agree, there are some things I am uneasy bout as well.
I just ended things with my S O, and am just starting to date online, and kinda uneasy bout this whole thing cause well, I mean, I only recently got into online culture, I mean hell, this is my first board, and now I'm gonna meet chics who I found online, I can't date chics on campus now cause ex is on campus and the only chics I dig on are her friends... so yeah, next step in online culture thing.

I never did get to try online dating. wish I had. Good luck - I bet it would be fun.

Btw - with the nightmares and stuff, really it is no bid deal. It happens so much that it does not even bother me at all. :D all I do is turn the tv onto Nick at Night and the old sitcoms comfort me and I fall right back asleep

I've been in way to many fights in my life to ever be considered for prettiest face! Now if we have a contest of my scars and broken bones I'm in the top 3!!

Most chics think scars are sexy, dunno bout asian chics, but I've been only in one fight, and still sticking to my story that I got sucker punched... dude broke my nose, and I only got one parting shot, before it got broken up... been in a few situations when I was drunk that could have led to fights, but my shit doesn't really get violent when I get drunk, just kinda thinking I'm funny even though no one else does... Plus, I rarely drink now, and I toke to chill out, and I don't think its possible to get violent when stoned... I can already bet you fought some asian dudes for scheming on their chics... lol.

Most girls I know don't have any problems with it and some really like it. I'm not sure about asian chicks so much because I really haven't messed with any lately. I tell you though I have met a few while in Houston and they sure seem alot more into dating out the race than in NOLA. I really haven't had many fights with asians and my friends get scared because I have a hard time caring about them guys because their so damn small! My friends always tell me they'll shoot or stab me though so I guess I need to watch it.

Yea my nose was broke like 4x's, I have two scars above both eyes from stitches, I have a scar on the back of my head where I was hit with a forty bottle, then I have one on the top where I was hit with a bat, then I had my jaw broke, left eye socket shattered with a little cut right below it, and my nasal cavity was crushed. Good ole fighting and bouncing in Louisiana!! lol

Last I heard from Brothabill, he and Bubbles were together and like getting married or something.

I never knew much about Bubbles. I didn't know she worked in law until earlier this summer when BB told me.

Was there drama with her posting pics here?

:cow:

I won't dismiss that, but Bubbles was a class act I'd be surprised if she had anything of extremely poor taste, but we all have lapses in judgment once in a while.

People have a lot of reasons for not posting their photos. I decided a long time ago I'll be accepted for who I am on this forum for WHO I am, the truest part of me, my words and thoughts. Some people mock me, some people respect me :whatever: Some people figure I must be a cow, some fantasize I'm a goddess. It doesn't matter. I could be a fucking burn victim and not have a face at all, does that invalidate my thoughts and opinions?
