Preparing for Pregnency workout

My Dr. warned against getting too hot while exercising, there were no other limitations. Maybe you can work out at home and crank the AC? Swimming is always good. Good luck and congratulations!

I am pregnant with my 4th right now (EDD 8/3) and I want to repeat what others have already stated... that thoughout pregnancy you have to be especially careful about overheating and overexerting (like when you lift heavy). After the 2nd trimester it gets much more tough. :( That's when your body is feeling pregnant (ie ligaments get looser) and ob/gyns don't recommend doing exercises in a supine position. I can't do a lot of exercises laying on my back that I love doing so it cramps my workout style. I also had to change my mindset to maintain what I have and take it down a lot of notches so I don't injure myself or baby. For example, I used to do cardio like on my treadmill for 30 to 45 minutes and now I can barely stand cycling 15 minutes on my stationary bike.

Also, consider the chance you might have complications. God forbid it happens, but it's happening to me and I consider myself healthy. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during my 26th week, but diabetes runs in my family and I've had it with my other 3 kids. Anyways, this really, really cramps my exercise time and diet because I have to test my blood and take insulin shots. My diet has always been the same which is a curiosity to me that I got GD, but being that I am growing a baby :) I can see how it's added stress. It's a major pain...

Well, I hope any of this helps you and good luck!!
