Pre-Workout

I wake at 6am and lift at 6:30.

I currently take in a protein shake before I lift, sometimes with oats in also.

Is there anything better I can take it at this time, or is 30 mins before lifting pointless to even try to take in low GI carbs?

Advice (can't change the time I lift currently) please.

Personally if it was me I would just go on a empty stomache and then take in extra carbs after your workout. The first two meals after your workout you can supercompinsate your carbs.

Depends what is lift like. If very hard lift maybe is better working after meal,if do easier
for example definition that present before meal.

I a mixed amino acid shake with dextrose during my workout. I down half right before my warm-up cardio. I dilute the rest and sip on it during my workout, works great for those morning workouts.
