OJ isnt a fast enough acting carb its a bit slower and doesnt spike the blood levels very much either bad carb for post workout

i guess i just believed all the gimmicks....that pure isloate was the best...guess i was wrong

might give dymatize a go

and alot of guys said they use milk in the post workout shakes...i thought milk slowed it down

I'm not so sure what makes Dymatize so good. The main protein is whey concentrate which has the lowest protein percentage of all the proteins. It goes for $5.99 a pound at Protein Factory. It's fine for some extra protein but as a post workout shake it would make sense to use a superior, more absorbable protein source.

whey protein absorbs about as fast as protein can. think it is the fastest absorbing protein, thats why its good after workout. then you have a big protein dinner to get the slower acting and more complete proteins in..

It's not absoption. It's how much is utilized and how much is waste.

No protein is more utilized better than plasma serum. A distant second is hydrolyzed, but it taste terrible. Then comes cross filtered whey and miceller casien, both of which are about 95% actual protein. Whey concentrate is near the bottom -- about 75% useable protein. It's also the cheapest and that's why it's the most widely used in commercial brands. Some companies use it to "stretch" the protein content, while others use it as the main component. They tend to be the cheaper brands.
