Poliquin Claves Training

What's up everyone. I'm a first time poster, long time lurker.

There's been a lot of talk here about the Poliquin Claves routine. I've been doing it for 2 1/2 weeks now and have had great results. They've gone from 14 3/4" to 15". Calves have always been hard for me to train and get results with, so I am super pumped about this workout because I'm an ectomorph with long skinny forearms and calves. After the first day I could hardly walk and my calves didn't stop hurting for 6 days! Unreal. Anybody else getting results from this workout? I urge everyone to go ahead and try it!
 
Its motivating to be getting results so soon! do you do anything special to keep that size?? like what do you eat?? or anything you'd like to share... I'm thinking about following Poliquin calve routine too.!
 
I'm not really doing anything special. I'm 5'9" 163 lbs. about 9% bf I think. I'm eating about 3,000 calories a day. Only supplements are Creatine, n-large 2, and whey protein. Go ahead and give it a try. I guarantee it's like nothing you've ever tried before. When I do the workout my calves blow up like friggin baloons. I never have gotten pumps like that before.

BTW, I noticed you're from Mexico. I love Mexico. I spent a month in Cuernavaca and I got to travel all around mexico city, and a lot of the surrounding areas. I got sick as a dog for a couple of days but other than that it was great. It was nice to see all the beautiful places and interesting spots that most tourists don't get to see when they go to a tourist trap town like Cancun or Acapulco. All the people I met were great too.

I'm not sure if this is the same Poliquin calves routine you're all talking about, but I've put maybe 1.5 cm or so on my calves in the last 6 weeks with this:

Day 1:

Modified superset: do A followed immediately by B, then rest 2 minutes

A: Seated calf raise: 3 sets: 10, 5, 5 with a 101 tempo
B: Donkey calf raise: 3 sets: 30-50 reps each, 101 tempo

Then do this:
Standing calf raise: 10 sets of 10 reps with 10 secs rest between each (111 tempo)

Day 2: 48 hours after Day 1

Standing calf raise: 3 x 10 triple drop sets, at a 121 tempo (those 2 seconds at the bottom will make you sob, believe me) 90 secs rest between sets

A killer routine, but works.

Tip: make sure you have someone else drive you to the gym, or take the train. :alien:
 
I started the Poliquin routine on Sunday, and did the second half 48 hrs later, as called for, on Tuesday. My calves are really sore. My question is how long do I wait to start over, or how many times a week should I go thru the full routine? Do I just keep going by the 48 hr. waiting period, even to start the routine again from the beginning?
 
i've followed that routine except using leg press calf raise instead of donkey calf raise. the results are good.

i would do each calf workout once a week. i don't think it's absolutely important to do the 2nd one 2 days after the 1st. i did mine 3 days after because i was on a four day split per week. i still saw nice results.

when you focus and concentrate on your calves as hard as you need to, you will feel some real pain and pumps that are rock hard (literally) in your calves.
