PMS Bloat and diuretic

Audacious1

I always gain anywhere from 5-10lbs of water weight in the week leading up to my period, which is hell for me! And i am not overexaggerating either, my body loves to give me crap.

Anyway, i am too busy to search with a 1yr old running around, so i will ask and forgive me if this is repetitive or has been asked before. I have some Midol PMS which has a diuretic in it, but is it powerful enough for my type of bloating or should i go with something like Diurex that is stritctly for bloating? The midol seems to relieve it a little, but i was wondering if something like Diurex would do more, or if i would just be wasting my money. I have already drank more water than i think anyone could handle and have not touched much sodium, so what else could i do? Thanks in advance for any opinions.

My gyn told me that taking Aleve or a generic naproxin sodium for a few days before you anticipate the bloat or cramps will work well. Haven't tried it. But if you do, please let me know how it goes!
