Plyometrics

Who does them? Whats your favourate?

Doing cross training with boxing, Im supposed to do these but Ive either been concentrating on getting cardio up to where I can still stand after 5 rounds, or packing some weight on. I understand the theory behind them, I just wondered what expereiences you have with them.

Ive tried the chest one; Sit up > catch 6kg ball > throw ball > turn and drop > side situp > catch ball ect. Its supposed to improve striking power and stability from different angles.

What you listed sounds much more like cardio then plyometrics. Plyometrics aren't supposed to be taxing to your endurance. And that would be.

Kelley Bagget is a favorite author of mine who writes alot about Plyo. Read here: Plyometric Myths

keep plyos under 5 reps total. Make each rep count and be explosive as possible. Like for depth jumps, only do 5 then take a rest. youll see poeople doing 20 and by the 12th one they are already tired, and that is not how to teach ur body to be explosive. Its just like doing power cleans, you would never do 15 reps to get better at them.
