Between 3 boards I counted 45 *IN*s , 85% from Elite. I'm not worried yet. It's very early. :)
lots of people talk a big game, but when it comes time to dish out some cash, nobody's home.

I was factoring in a 30% no-show rate. I do have 17 donors so far, plus 2 more via Paypal that aren't included yet. The kicker is if I have $1,000 in the first 45 days I get a cycling jacket or something. I'm already there.

My $ has already been paid out of my business account so I ain't in that group. Course it's easier to make a business donation than a personal one I guess but $ is $, right?

A couple of people really stepped up to the plate; even one of my ex'es that I really haven't gotten along with for over a year. I don't care if somebody gives $5. It all helps in the end.

I have no problem supporting a worthwhile cause. I live a charmed life by almost all standards.

I didn't want to beat people up right after the holidays. I will probably start reminding people in 5-6 weeks once people have had time to pay down/forget about holiday expenses. I'm trying to focus on a different source each month and this month is the forums. Next month I'll hit up coworkers; then off line friends.

I know another guy doing this and he only has two donations in over a month...on the other hand they were $500 and $300 so he's not too bad off.

cough it up bitches, help out these people.

Dial_Tone: any way to tell how much of the money actually goes to help the cause and how much is sucked up in porked up administrative salaries for a bunch of fools milking it for all its worth?

AIDS/LifeCycle is produced entirely by the two beneficiaries of the ride
- the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation,
so it is in our best interest to keep the cost of fundraising as low as
possible.

Our financial results are driven primarily by the number of participants
we have and the funds they raise - the more participants, the higher our
revenue and lower our cost of fundraising. The cost of fundraising has
improved with each year of production and we budget, strive for and
anticipate a continuation of that trend. We are proud of the growth of
ALC over the past four years, and its increasingly successful results.
The cost of fundraising for AIDS/LifeCycle 3 was 44.31% and last year,
for AIDS/LifeCycle 4 it was 37.1%.

This is actually LifeCycle 6 so hopefully it's less than 30% now.
