Plantar Fasciitis- Do Squats?

1999TL

Well, the other day I ran in my Nike Free's. I always just lounged around in them, never ran in them. My smart ass decided that I would help somebody out and help her pass out flyers for her new business. I ended up jogging for about 90 minutes. I quit b/c I was hungry and it was time for me to eat. What happens the next morning? I get plantar Fasciitis. It's been 2 days and it's still bothering me.

Do any of you guys have this, and still squat while the pain is lingering?

It's a bad idea.

Stretch it, ice it and get off it (your feet).

I stopped running for many months and got orthodics which after about 6 months (maybe less) the pain finally went away.

If I walk around bare foot a lot it acts up (high aches + no support = bad news).

go to heelspurs.com and get the foot wrap with the ice pads in them - heaven

Too late. I put on some basketball shoes and I did my squats. Once I started walking with shoes that have support I was good to go.

Thank god I don't have that anymore. I had a job where I was on my feet for 12 hours/day, 3-4 days a week (sometimes more) pretty much the whole time. My feet killed me! Plantar fasciitis would act up even when I had good arch support. Just too much time on my feet.

Velvett's advice is great (as usual), stretch em, ice em, and get off em.

Thanks for the link. However, I'm hoping that I am not out for 6 months like you were. I assume that you had a nagging injury? This is the first time I've really experienced this. I'm hopeful that it will go away...
I ignored the pain for a long time until heel spurs started to grow.
So just take care your feet.
