I am kinda of bummed out. I am going to Galveston tomorrow for a huge rally and my bike ain't running right. Let me tell you the background on the problem.

I got some bad gas I guess because I was going home and the bike died on me. I called my wife and she brought a screwdriver and I cleaned the fuel filter and then it made it home but it was spitting and sputtering so I cleaned the main jet and it had crap stuck in the hole and I drained the whole tank. Still spit and sputtered. Then I changed the plugs and it ran better but not really the same as it did.

Well last night I was coming home and I gunned it when I was going about 120 and when I got to 128(have had it to 145) it fouled a plug again because it ran like crap all the way home(barely made it) So I got home changed the plugs again and ran better but it just sounds and feels different to me.

So my question is could the secondary jet be clogged as well? And what exactly does it do?

Its the flux capacitor.. they go bad all the time. I would also check the dimodulators, they can screw up the plug timing and cause that sputtering thing.

Wrong time, wrong thread, wrong vehicle, wrong mechanical and wrong movie. Milo how can you go a post something so WRONG!

Sounds like someone tampered with your gas,Water in the tank will cause sputtering & such but not to the extent of fouling a plug.

Get a high quality port cleaner that you add to the tank. Then run your bike at idle for a while to let the cleaner work it's way in. You probably have jets and ports clogged and possibly some valve sticking going on. After running the cleaner replace the fuel filter, add more cleaner to the tank and fill it up again. If this doesn't help you are on your way to the shop, because unless you have had one of these engines apart several times you don't want to go messing with ports and valves.

Some other ideas:
Are you sure you properly gapped your plugs?
Is your timing off?
Is your choke sticking?
Is the throttle sticking?
Is the bike smoking while running?
How bad is it lugging?

Cheers,
Scotsman
