Pintoca's 11 months cutting results...

Not much to report this month, let's just say I was VERY lucky:

1. Vacations in Italy = LOTS of yummy food
2. sickness = LOTS of lost gym time (more than 3 weeks in total) and very little animal protein (my issue is digestive, so they took animal protein out of my diet for a while).

I am resuming my training this sunday, finally, so hopefully the 1 year Anniversary of my cutting thingie will be more exciting.

I said I was lucky because I actually gained some weight (4.6 lbs) but about 3.5 lbs of that are LBM and the fat % remained somewhat constant... so I'm happy... could have been much worse.

Nevertheless, it is a bummer to see you gain fat when you are cutting, though truth be told I cannot really say I was "cutting" this past month

here is the graph so far.

as for update pics, I look exactly the same as I did 1 month ago... (my profile pic is exactly that) no changes whatsoever so I get the pics for the "BEFORE - 1 YEAR AFTER"

It can be good to allow the body to relax and think the feasting times are back periodically. Good for the soul, too, not to mention that the extra LBM should bump your BMR.

Good luck on the home straight to your anniversary. Take care on the first couple of gym visits since you'll have deconditioned slightly.

Yep, I expect some major league soreness... I guess I will have to live with it though... sure that when I tighten the diet again, most of that LBM is going to be water held by the yummy carbs... leaving me with only the fat gains, LOL

Pintoca has really been inspiration too me. I was in nearly the same boat at 310lb 35% bf 6'5 last december. Im now at 255lb 23% and getting better every week at my training/diet. From december to april was just diet went from 310 to 285 then I've been hitting the gym 4-5 times a week since april/may and down to where Im at now.

Have you not been weight training at all during your cutting? I find that amazing I've never felt better or lost larger chunks of bf% since I started the weight training back in april/may. I did have MAJOR soreness the first 2 weeks but now its definitely not a problem. My last 2 month checkup I lost 4.4% bf from 27.3 to 22.9 in just 2 months which included weight training and ~45 mins of cardio 4-5 times a week.

Now a question for the master, my only deficit I think so far is there has to be diet. I keep finding foods that are high protein and low in carbs and fat and have been sticking around 250-300g protein a day at a 60/20/20 ratio. Is this ratio a bit too extreme? I take 4 multivitamins a day, they lack some in calcium/potassium so I supplement those and 2 1200mg flax oil capsules per day.

Im also in the IT industry (network admin) and it is definitely not conductive to a hard body. Let me know what you think pintoca, now that Im a platinum member I can finally give you some K ;)

Thanks for your inspiration bro

VERY nice work harbinator :) people like you and pintoca inspire me to keep working at my lifting/dieting...so far its paying off...lost about 1.5 lbs already (only about 1.5-2 weeks of dieting - not even a really strict diet) and my strength keeps going up lifting more every week :) - i'll let you guys know the details my improvement in about 2 months or so when it has drastically improved

but great job pintoca...takes a lot of work and sacrifice to cut your body fat % in half - keep up the great work :garza:

Congratulations! Really not a bad month, nice food, nice vacations...very good! Hope your feeling better though bro! 3.5lbs of lbm is always good, surely that should make you feel better. Looking fantastic on your pic! REAL inspiration to the rest of us, you really inspired me and made me bothered to lose the weight I have done...big thanks go out to you!

WOW man, those are some amazing results!!! At your height I am sure you already look a world different at 255.

I'm not a master, a guru or anything for that matter Bro... the good part about this whole deal is that I'm exactly the same as all of you: Just a guy who finally said "I will not take this anymore" and started to take action instead of sitting on my butt complaining how unfair life was, giving the guy next door a great body and to me, well, this!!!

I started dieting only for the first 2 weeks, a crash diet, nonetheless... My lie to myself during those 2 weeks was: "I will cleanse myself before starting fresh".... the biggest benefit of those 2 weeks, besides getting rid of a whole of water, was that I took the time to read and read and read some more and then plan my strategy for the following months.

After those 2 weeks I started my program as it is today: Diet, Cardio and lifting... the diet and lifting has changed (they have to, you normally outgrow every program if you continue doing it for long enough)... I've varied my diet in terms of ratios and cals and the lifting went from 4 days splits to 5 days to 5x5s... cardio has more or less remained: 5-6 days a week for 45min at 75-85% MHR.

As for your ratios, it really depends: If they work for you, they work for you, however a diet that is 60% protein will be:

1. More expensive
2. Harder to keep on (carbs are yummy, we want them)
3. tend to be boring
4. probably a waste of protein, since you are not building new muscle

so my recommendation to you, start lowering your protein and increasing your carbs until you find a balance...most likely you will notice your strenght increasing a bit from the additional carbs.

I'm currently at 45%P, 35%C, 20% F, do I normally vary that 5% between carbs and fats

About the caps, try and use flax oil from the bottle instead of caps: it will cheaper and you will get more oil in your daily intake... granted, it wil be less convenient

Feel free to ask man, this board, or any board, is good in the measure they help us reach our objectives, knowledge without action is useless!!!

Pintoca,

Do you feel that you would have gotten faster or better results had you taken a thermogenic such as TREX or Clen.....Did you use any fat burners and if not why?
