i think saying that we all suffer at times blablabla fighting it to the end blabla is just bullshit.

when your say paralized from the neck down and you need to be on the tap and the breathing machine all day and you eat trough a fucking tube and on top of all that your in a lot of pain then somebody BETTER pull the plug.

If I were to come in a position where im so ill I can not do what i want or enjoy my life and im in pain I sincerely hope somebody will be nice enough to murder me.

I find it stupid that this is even an issue. its logical to me

Damn, that is certainly not my experience, Aurelius -- especially in Andalucia.

We´re in a fog now. We have to agree on what "conservative" means with regards to sex and compare two entire nation-states excluding regional differences. A tar pit of debate lies ahead.

In my experience, I´ll just say that sexual practices in Catalunya are no more "liberated" among people under 35 than those in California on the whole. The stark contrast, for me, lies in the lack of censorship and general openness with regards to discussion about sex. People here are not inclined to think sex as "dirty."

I can't generalize about the population, but gay men in southern Spain are far less looksist, ageist and interested in fixed roles than they are in America. I find this true throughout the Mediterranean world. I also find these qualities well represented in flamenco, so I tend to see them as more generally based in the culture.

In fact, Spain's national constitution protects gay people.

Flamenco dance and any culture attached to it tend to remain firmly in the south, in my experience.

Interested in fixed roles? Anyway, an interesting perspective.
