I am 59 years old and have been cycling (2 or 3 cycles per year) for the last 4 years. Mostly low doses of Test with some deca at times. 250 mg test per week and when I did the deca, 200 mg. I am relatively healthy (5'11, 215 lbs) and work out usually 4x per week.
About 4 years ago my Dr diagnosed me with low test. I tried to get him to go for injectible test but he wouldn't, and put me on androjel. After a few months my levels only went from 95 to 200. That is when I decided to take matters into my own hands. My Dr. found out when he tested my blood and I told him the truth.
So this has been going on for 4 years and I get my blood tested at least every 6 months. My Dr. started alerting me to the fact that my RBC, HGB, and HCT were high. I put all my bloodwork for the last 4 years into an excel sheet and i can see when I started cycling my levels went up.
In sept. 2011 they were at their highest with m RBC at 6.7, my HGB at 20 and my HCT at 60.4. That Spring my Dr told me he was really concerned about a stroke and said he wanted me to go to a Hematologist. I went and the Hematologist recommended immediate weekly phlebotomies. I went through this all summer and all my levels went to normal levels. I did no aas also during this time. Then they sent up my appointments for monthly. I missed the first one because of the hurricane and didn't go back until January. In the mean time I did a cycle of test for 8 weeks. Now my levels have risen - RBC 6.88, HGB 18, and HCT 54.4. So I am back on the phlebotomy trail onca again except monthly now.
I guess my main question is, are the phlebotomies really necessary? I know these higher levels are the results of the aas. Obviously if I continue to do cycles they are going to stay somewhat high and the dr's are going to keep me coming back for their services.
