What about a GPG from LSPUT or KMSE? Or a BDG from ESPC and a YUT from EDRT? I heard FGHB sucks, but QPRT is pretty good.

really...people think that ISSA sucks? i was just getting ready to take that course for my CFT.

are you saying that a CPT from NASM is better than that?

NASM IS WAY BETTER THAN ISSA. NASM IS MORE RESPECTED IN THE INDUSTRY THEN ISSA PROBABLY BECAUSE ISSA IS AFFILIATED WITH BODY BUILDING. YA KNOW THERE IS ALWAYS THAT SKINNY MR KNOW IT ALL RUNNING THE TRAINING DEPT THAT IS A HATER ON BODY BUILDING.

EITHER WAY JUST GET NATIONALLY CERTIFIED AND THEN GET OTHER CERTS AS YOU GO ON

Just received my certification from ESA, now going for a cert through ISSA, then on to Nutritional Counseling

Isn't there a cheapie one you can get through the internet just to say you are certified?

Also how long does it take to get a legit certification?

If you take the right 18 hour course, from a competent, knowledgable, instructor, you might be able to take the test immediately. Sometimes the agencies involved with grading them, don't get around to it for 30-60 days though...make sure to get your CPR card so you can submit it when you take the test.

I was thinking about doing this also. I cannot find a decent job so it seems like a good option. I was looking into the IFPA cert but I will look into the others that you guys recommended. How do you get clients? Just advertise at your gym?

The top-of-the-line gyms in my area will only accept American College of Sports Medicine(ACSM), or National Strength and Conditioning Association(NSCA). Those are the highest rated certifications. Whoever said ACE is good is a retard, because they basically just mail you the certification, and the gyms that might actually PAY you for your CPT services are well aware of that fact.
