Periodization and Improvement

I wanted to hear from you about periodization, hitting a plateau, changing your workouts and all that you have learned over the years to get over the hump and gain more after stagnating for a while. I have not been able to improve my lifts in 2 years and wondering if maybe I was not changing up my workout enough. Any tips
 
I would first change splits before changing all so if you doing 5 days per week do 3 days then 6 days really change things up for results
