Perfect skin

perfect skin - drink lots of water. Stay away from fried foods. yaddayaddayadda.

Seriously, although I'm genetically blessed with skin that rarely blemishes, whenever I lower my water intake or binge particularly badly on greasy (as opposed to carb-rich) foods, I get a few spots. Large amounts of carbs don't give me spots, but fries/kfc/etc do. Luckily I don't like kfc that much. Working in the catering trade for a while (non-fast food, not much difference in the grease about tho) increased my blemish count too - all that grease and food in the air...

I don't use moisturiser and I wash with soap and warm water twice a day. I find sunscreen blocks my pores quite badly but there's not much call for it here in Scotland :).

if you're using something that causes acne as a side effect tho, not sure what will get rid of that, I never had acne, just a few spots...

I do almost exactly the same as Spatts, except no Differin and sometimes leave out the benzoyl peroxide when I notice too much of a drying effect(dry skin). And since I live in FL, sunscreen everyday as well as moisturizer with Vit E oil.

Darktooth,

How long have you been on the Accutane? Usually by the 2nd/3rd month you should see great improvement in acne and a lot less oil. You may even find your skin getting extra dry, even inside your nose, and definitely your lips. (Aquaphor ointment is good for these two problems.) I use Cetaphil cleanser and Cetaphil lotion and like them a lot.

Lay off the Retin-A or any type of vitamin A while on Accutane. Accutane is a special form of vitamin A, and too much can be toxic - that's why you have those monthly blood tests while on. I'm not sure about the Cleocin T, it's an antibiotic ointment, and may cause over-drying, but not sure about other possible interactions. I stopped all other topicals while on Accutane and it worked great.

As for the scarring, don't do any facial peels or dermabrasion until you've been off the Accutane for @6 months. These will help smooth out the scars, but while on Accutane, your skin is even more susceptible to scarring, so wait.
