the aprocrine gland in the armpit and genital region are known to produce a viscous fatty acid secretion that has a characteristic musky odor due to androgen metabolites in the secretion and bacteria acting on them..musky smell is noted even without bacteria acting on them. the following two androgen metabolites have been isolated in the human armpit and genital region:5 alpha-androst-16-en-3 alpha-ol,5a-androst-16-en-3-one( there is no Hydroxy group on carbon 17 like most androgens you are familiar with, just a double bond connecting carbon 16-17) some literature suggest this chemical can effect mood of women exposed to it and alter their rating of pictures of men when exposed to it..i was trying to develope and oral androgen based off ths structure..my theory of activity was dependant on the double bond reducing and forming a 17 beta hydroxy..if this mechanism did occur after oral administration i could have applied this to a few androgens and marked them as a a prohormone that is not scheduled by the fda and legal for now..
