Do you pay attention? The Pats secondary was so screwed up they signed a CB who had been out of the game for two years. Their entire starting defensive backs unit was gone. Last year they lost 3 of 4 starters. Yet, Manning has just barely outscored them.
Other than the Texas game, which team did Gonzalez have great yards after the catch? Indiana? Illinois? How about Bowling Green?
Even if Moss takes plays off, he's still better than Kelvin Kight or Jabar Gaffney or Grandpa Brown. Moss, Stalworth, Washington extending the field while David Thomas and Ben Watson cut across the middle. That's a nightmare for any team.
Negatives: Chases and hits with good force, but needs to add some more bulk to face up to the bigger blockers at the next level … Likes to collide with ball carriers when tackling in space, but needs to wrap more often to protect his surgically repaired left shoulder (has hurt the shoulder twice in recent years and further medical evaluation might be warranted).
and that's all because of the secondary?? Does their frontline add up to anything in your esteemed estimation? Pressure had nothing to do with it huh?
This is what I'm talking about with the pats......I hate them......but they're depth at every single fucking position has been sick. So you're able to bring in guys who aren't top flight security specialists in the secondary, but they're just fine because a qb can't sit in the pocket for more than 3-4 seconds waiting for the routes to pan out. And in regards to manning, they're in his head, no doubt. He get's all jittery in the pocket against them unlike any other team he faces, even with better defenses. But again NE he makes unbeleivably stupid throws that he never makes against anyone else.........
