Out of the Army

Negatron. I'm the real deal.

Now to try and reconnect with some of my old, non-banned homies here.

Yeah, joined it in 2003 after some long talks with that guy from Texas here (although, he wasn't the deciding factor).

Spent some time all over the place, doing this and that, now I'm in one place doing this and that...and no longer a slave to the federal government.

now you can take your rightful place at Plunkeys side for ruling of the meanie conservative galaxy

I was a medic and spent my entire time in a combat arms unit.

People that talk about killing people never killed anyone.

Go back and read my posts over the years...I have always been fucked up. No claim pending, although, having DV listed on my license plate might have gotten me out of a ticket two weeks ago. Oh well.

68 whiskey huh???

ft sam and all that...cool...

having "veteran" on my plates and a police widows and orphans club plaque on one of my cars has gotten me out of numerous tickets
the later having been inherited with the car however

fuck the service??? or...hooah?

Nah, I'm not totally fuck the military. I loved some of the stuff I did, places I went, people I met...and it opened up a lot of doors for me, but only because I did my best to make that happen.

However, the lifestyle is just not for me. I don't like being treated like expendable property, having the terms and conditions of my life dictated to me on a routine basis, being surrounded by many people who incapable of making responsible and rational choices, etc. etc.

Plus, the grooming standards are a total bummer.

Ft Sam was fun...much more fun than Benning and Bragg.

I went to a non combat basic...relaxin jackson..though it still sucked balls in the summer
that and I'm offended by roaches..both insect and person

3) USMC
4) USCG

I'd put coastie at the top then the rest of your order is correct

except for "striking" for MOS/Tech Training are whatever the fuck they call it and a chance of serving ice breaking duty

I'd want training guaranteed on my enlistment contract

troo, which the army does do now btw......

but yeah, coasties can be selective as shit and put you in whatever MOS they fuckin please

In all honesty, I miss some of it. Where else can you shoot machine guns, jump out of airplanes, go to demo ranges, play with cool toys, etc. However, it must be admitted that for every cool thing you do, you must first do 1000 things that suck.

if you continue in any medical field you'll come to miss "quick clot" the most

I was going to post the same thing...nothing makes you a Libertarian faster than being sent to war...

No kidding. But, for me, it had nothing to do with being in the Middle East...it had more to do with hearing the non-stop bullshit coming out of the mouths of those around me.

The Kool-Aid drinking is not just for Democrats, let me tell you...

Just as an example, a good majority of people thought I was some kind of communist pinko, because my political views did not match the talking points coming out from Sarah Palin and Country music songs.

That ship has sailed, my friend. I'm currently studying for the CFA Level 1 exam not the MCAT.

I had enough of seeing my fair share of diseased penises because doods in my unit were always more than willing to stick it in anything at any time.

"If youre not with us youre against us"

We actually didn't use Quick Clot in country; it was too fucking exothermic and people were getting seriously fucked up from it. I had some of the sponges, but I mostly carried Celox in my kit.

really?? must of phased out after I left....

they gotta stop giving waivers for shellfish allergies

I just looked up Celox.....look interesting but limited to what you can wrap it around
I don't know of any civilian ems (though they may) that uses it either

i'm goin on two yrs of being out of even civie ems

edit:
Celox™ is made with chitosan, a natural polysaccharide. Chitosan has a known metabolic pathway. That means any left in the body is broken down by the bodies normal enzymes and converted into materials normally present in the body.

its the same shit as quick clot, what makes it more thermally stable??? and what made quick clot unstable?

double edit:

nevermind...i see what happened, third gen quick clot is alluminosilicate as opposed to chitosan...they probably tried to get around the shellfish allergy prob

I had zero desire to do EMS work. Deal with HIV+, Hep C carrying, homeless people with tuberculosis, who want to bite, shoot, stab, and infect me? For what? Less than $15/hour? Hah.

I left as a medic making a little over 28 an hr with full bennies

but I hear ya about the rest
I actually left because I was tired of being shit on all the time (figuratively) while I was ruining my back and mind trying to help people
I've never been bit or infected at any rate...lol

IMO, the best thing you can do is come to terms with what you did by talking about it with fellow veterans. When I left and came back I was all hardcore but my college adviser was an Air Force helicopter pilot that was awarded two Silver Stars during his service in Vietnam; He took the time to recollect his own experiences with PTSD..it was bullshit until he looked at his wife and his life at a lecture and she confirmed what he was thinking. It isn't a weakness, it's a way to make yourself a better person by confronting your demons.

I apologize if I assume too much.

Always wise to take life advice from an AF Vet

just sayin'

He told me that I reminded him of his crew chief but until I saw his last mission featured on the History Channel...where his crew chief was killed..I didn't realize that it was directed so strongly at me...he made references to how fit his crew chief was and how many pull ups he could do..and how committed he was to every mission.

Lot of that around here too. Welcome back brutha.

Is there? I don't really think so. I think there are more libertarian types around here and a bunch of liberals.

I think we need to kill them all and start all over fresh.

Sounds like my life when I had my old job.
If the government doesn't control people big business do most of the time.

Eh, you have a few retards like canadianhitman that fit the aforementioned bill. One or two others that still think Obama is a closet moose limb sent here to destroy the country, etc.

No kidding! Country music is like some weird Red State lifestyle affirmation ritual now.

Wait 'til you meet "ledhead" here...

I actually like Toby Keith but I don't appreciate the jingoistic stuff...

This reminds me of EF...

I'm old...

Welcome back bro!

I know you're on the right politically, but I still missed you. Always posted some cool news stories and shit.

I think George should shout you a COTB or at least a platty just for coming back alive.

So, were you over in Iraq? How many tours? Are you a combat vet now? Share some stories!

And yeah, being a medic for less than $15 an hour, fuck that you can do better.
