It took them three weeks to make an accurate model of the enzyme.... I wonder how many millions was wasted in a lab on guys trying to figure all this out.
I'm curious if this will be the new thing to do for future drugs, diseases, etc... millions of minds all working together, the possibilties are endless

In all fairness, these online gamers were playing "Foldit".

Developed in 2008 by the University of Washington, it is a fun-for-purpose video game in which gamers, divided into competing groups, compete to unfold chains of amino acids - the building blocks of proteins - using a set of online tools.

So I seriously doubt these were CoD players working out of their mom's basements between fog sessions.

Having said that, I think the Air Force should release an online drone simulation program and give scholarships to the top 100 gamers every year. Sure, you'll have "pilots" that are 100lbs overweight and couldn't do a single pushup -- but I bet those fat fvcts can blow your ass right out of the sky.

You drive trains right?

I might, why does one ask?
And I agree with plunkey on the recruiting aspect of having a version of the drone program online to see who the best is

something tells me they're already on that one. You ever read "why" they've been downgrading basic training? It's cause these kids are getting pelvic and various other stress factures left and right. Even the ones that played sports in HS. The human race is softening out.
