Older guy: HRT or cycle

Big Addy Juice

This is my first post here,
I'm a 38 yr old male that was recently diagnosed with low T ( total 266, free 6.7). I have a female doc who put me on Androgel 1%. I asked for the shot but she was only willing to do once a month. I felt that this was too irregular. I have an appointment with an endocrinologist about 2 months out.
To make a long story short, I feel like shit and I'm tired of getting jerked around by the medical community. I am thinking of taking matters into my own hands. My primary interest is getting my sex life back, losing fat, as well as increased energy and mood.
Here is a little about me. I'm 6'4" 295 right now and according to the tape I am 27% body fat. I have been working out at a Planet Fitness for about 3 months with some gains in strength, but not that much visually.I changed my diet when I started working out again to a healthier one. Currently I Bench 365 and squat 405 on the Smith Machine( the gym doesn't have free weights). In my prime at 22-23 I was 245 lbs 16% BF benching 385 and squating just over 400 free weight all juice free. When I turned 30 I started getting puffier and now I'm plain fat. Additionally, I have a great deal of stress in my life for the past few years.
Now for my question and this is directed at the older crowd. What type of HRT did you do, how long did you do it, and what were the results? WHat kinds of results do you think I could expect?

Regards

Ha sounds like my life 3 years ago.
HRT is for life not for the heck of it.
I run 200mg per week of cyp. split in two doses per week.
I was over 30% bf, you need to work on that diet and do cardio as many days as posible.
I have my head back and am squared away, great libedo just ask the GF, I am currently 12-14%BF
I can get my HRT Dr info but the gel may be the way to go until you get your diet in check or else you may end up adding bulk to bulk...

I'm 57 and my insurance will not pay for HRT,The androgel is pricey with out insurance, with insurance it typically costs about 60 per month for 10mgs ED.It varies per company.

Its better for me to buy gear in bulk to run.

No I didn't start HRT until I was at about 10% BF. That is when I finally realized there was something wrong. I would eat the best in my life work out well with a trainer and just couldn't put on any size. Work and devorce had me depressed and I just wasn't producing anything naturally. I was running GH to feel better then I added some prop and BAM! It all just came together. I finished the prop did pct and 4 weeks later I was barely over 125T. LOL
I started with a local dr. with the test pellets but 1 run of that I just thought pinning was so much easier!

And No lowering my BF was due to complete change in diet, hiring a trainer and sticking to the workouts and cardio minimum of 3 days a week some days up to 1.5hrs of it.

I'm 50 used a compounded cream for 18 months (ended in December 2008), didn't do much of anything in regards to how I felt, but my total test numbers went up free T went up a little. I quite the cream and have found the best improvement I had in how I feel has come from cleaning up the diet and being focused in the gym. My last measure with calipers had BF at 16% (October 2008) Last test level was in the low 300's. I'm done with the cream, can't find a Dr. with a brain that will prescribe the real deal - gonna keep looking, suggest you do the same and not dick around with the creams. Keep doin what you're doin with the gym & diet change - those changes alone are steps that'll get ya feelin better.
