Oils?

I have been reading some stuff that other people have posted about flaxseed oil, sun flower seed oil, etc. Could somebody elaborate on this on how consuming these oils are beneficial?

Here are some informative sites you may enjoy along with info from the boards:
massquantities.com- go to supplements
ephca.com
thefactsaboutfitness.com- search oils

read up on omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids, and the ratios need by the body. Omega 3 is a higher ratio in flax. If you low fat already, look at hemp oil... higher ratios of omega 6's (which is what the body needs-higher O6's then O3's).

However, its stated that most americans are omega 3 deficient and get plenty of omega 6's in their diet. But if you not like most americans (which I assume most people on here are not) and your on very low fat, take them in as recommended body ratio needs.

There is a post on the Diet board from Udo Earmus...but he's selling his stuff mostly...http://www.thefactsaboutfitness.com/print/2jul2001_print.htm

Heres some interesting research on the matter: http://odp.od.nih.gov/ods/news/conferences/w6w3_abstracts.html

Add to add my personal flare:
Studies of hunter-gatherer populations show their diets contained roughly equal amounts of omega-6 and omega -3 fatty acids.....Those boys were hot, granted they had poor dental health, but with those loin clothes....:)
