i hope both czech and italy go thru.. hopefully ghana and US can have a goaless draw.. and czech and italy can have a 2-2 draw!! that would be fantastic!! kaka!!

well, besides the phi. cripples never winning a superbowl, you can surely add the usa never winning a world cup. the team sucks more than paris hilton. the coach needs to be fired. going to the world cup just to get bounced out disgracefully every world cup is getting tiresome.

yeah the stupid defensive formation when you need goals. Only 1 striker thats nuts. Donovan sucked a nut too, I guess this is why he couldnt play in europe. The 2 times he tried they said he wasnt physcial enough. Also, the US did some pretty dumbass shit. Reyna should not have been dribbling the ball back there he should knocked it back to the goalie. As for the PK the US guy should have kicked it out of bounds before the guy got the chance to get it in the box.
 
England are pissing the English fans off, as usual!! Why they play such a predictable slow game at international level I'll never know. If you watch a premiership game you'll see what English football is usually about: fast, flowing, aggressive, fuelled with blood & guts determination.

I think Sven has to drop Beckham or at least move him into central midfield, he's far too slow and predictable to play on the wing where you need a pacey skilful player like Lennon.

I’d like to see Gerrard partner Rooney in attack now that Owen's gone and re-injured himself. Defensively the team should be solid but confidence looks to be an issue.

I reckon we'll squeeze past Ecuador and then go home unless the manager grows a large pair of testicals - makes team and tactical changes AND utilises some motivational and inspirational skills.... lol, it just ain't gonna happen is it?!!

Like i said before watch out for France. They played much better today and they didnt even have Zidane. They are getting tons of open looks they have just had trouble putting it in the net. Ribery needs to stop launching it from like 6 feet away though but with Henry, trezeguet, ribery and zidane attacking I think they will beat Spain.
 
Spain's first 11 are better than France's.

Spain looked horrible today but that will be taken care of in practice.

This guy is almost 30, scores and defends

spain has always struggled after the 1st round. Vierra played well but tons of other guys had shots which they should have hit. This match could have easily been 4-0. France has been getting great looks the whole world cup. Also, they have only allowed 1 goal so far.
 
Mexico, Argentina is looking good. 2 goals in the first 15 mins and back and forth between both boxes. Mexicans looking better than 've seen them all tournament, c'mon Mexico!

Australia has played well, no pressure at all and it shows. Physically very fit and strong players, and Italians will feel it.

This is true but they havn't been tested yet, the only side that posed a threat was Sweden and they massively under performed, Germany could have scored many more. Their next game will be a good one to watch, should be a far better test for them although they are looking strong so far.

Brazil will fo to the finals

the match was a fucking disaster.. the referee should be red carded and replaced by colina(hehe).. the match should be restared.. too much intensity and emotions involved.. sigh.. no sportsmanship at all.. chances of portugal beating england in the quarters seem vague.. but there's always hope..

the game was from 3am-5am for me.. i'm feeling pretty fucked up now.. :worried:
 
It was fun to watch though. The shenanigans were outrageous. I loved it when the Portugeuse captain head-butted the Dutch guy. The Dutch player hesitated and then grabbed his head and went down for the (fake) count.

Lots of drama in that game.

figo is known for his physical aggresiveness.. this is not the first time he's head butted anyone.. but i'm a huge fan of his none the less.. and that fake shit was trying to get figo a red card or something.. bitch!

but a FAR FAR FAR better game compared to england vs ecuador.. i almost fell asleep during that game :verygood: ..

Great goal, terrible match. Beckham is hardly a one hit wonder, he's a deft dead ball striker, look at how many of his career goals have been scored or converted through free kicks. If England don't pick up their game they won't go any further.

i was referring to this particular match.. of cuz beckham is a gifted player.. but the way england is playing at this level.. sigh.. too much luck is on their side!! TOO MUCH!! omg.. now looka t portugal with so many yellow carded players and uncertain strikers and banned players.. england seems to be cruising their way thru comfortably..
 
I'll tell you all one thing - this WC, which I have watched very closely, has peaked my interest in soccer immensely. Which is a good thing. But WOW, I have never seena sport where so many grown men bitch, whine, cry and act like someone shot them when they get tapped on the foot. It's almost enough to ruin the experience for me.

True, too much theatre but the stakes are so high they will do fucking anything to get the decisive free kick or penalty kick. In this game 1 goal can make a player immortal.

I hear ya. But for someone who holds self-respect and toughness in high regards, this sport is tough to watch.
 
I haven't really watched much since the last World Cup, but that's what I remembered most.

When the Cup started this summer I couldn't remember who won last time but I remembered all of the faking and writhing on the ground.

It definitely hurts the game

I hope Ghana really go for it, Brazil's only weakness is their defence - so best tactic is to go at them and not let them settle into their samba rhythm.

Still Brazil is one level higher
 
Brazils defence is looking shaky again though, could leave room for an upset. Should make for a good game, or at least a good scoreline!

Zidane scored today Viera is coming on really strong so is Ribery. If Henry plays like he does in club they can take out Brazil. Im puttin a wad of karma on france again like i did today.
 
Didn't see the Spain - France game, but seeing that the ball control went to Spain 61 - 39%, then I'm really surprised France was able to win it 3-1.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

The only thing the Italians are good at is diving... and match-fixing. Should never have been a penalty and we were once again screwed over by the refs (just as we were against Brazil and Croatia), who are clearly favouring the stronger soccer nations and giving the minnows no change.

I reckon Brazil will win it for the second time running, the only teams that look capable of beating them at this stage are Germany and Argentina, and unfortunately one of them will be gone after tonight.

And on behalf of all Australians, can I just say: Come on Portugal... Knock the POMS out of the Cup! :evil: If they won the Cup, we would never hear the end of it. ;)
 
I'm looking for Argentina to win and Italy to win today. I just don't want Brazil to win the whole thing again. It's getting pretty pathetic for other countries that Brazil keeps on winning it over and over again. It seems like they shouldn't even bother showing up and just give it to Brazil. Of course, France can't win it either. Those smelly dirty fucks.

On another note, Ronaldinho is one ugly mother fucker.

The diving and rolling around on the ground is annoying. Too many yellow and red cards. They need to do something about that. Way too many fouls being called that aren't really fouls. Hope argentina demolishes the krauts today. Krauts are playing well though.
