Not to bag on you Hs Lifter but Italy deserved that win, they had many great shots on goal and I didnt see any ref help there cause. it was the best game I have seen yet ie many shots on goal (by both teams) and great goals at that. The only better shots were the ones against USA which made my stomach hurt but you have to give it to Czech Rep. great distance shots and good clean play for the most part.

1. Deserving to win is a whole nother issue and is a matter of opinion.

2. Yes, Italy did have some good shots. Besides the point.

3. And for the only point Im trying to make: How you could have not seen those 2 in box PK no calls is beyond me, to make sure I'm not insane, I checked some other boards and luckily I wasnt the only person to witness the PK no calls.

4. Yes, it was a great game. Could have easily been a tie at the very least if Ghana was awarded at least ONE of those PK no calls.

5. Yes USA got owned and the Czech's looked solid. Czech vs Italy should be a great game.

the czech's are solid! my guess is they'll make it to the semi's and the rest is really a blur.. japs and aussie were an embarrasment.. both were weak.. they wouldn't last till final 16.. brazil and croatia will crush them..

Togo looking good so far. Playing with the closed roof making it hot and humid. Might give Togo an advantage over S. Korea in the latter part of the game.

Lot's of injury-faking on the part of Korea so far.

I can't believe that French dude just passed up that one on one shot vs the Swiss goalie.

He tried to be Steve Nash instead and it didn't work. Gotta take that shot.

Korea = below average
Togo = below average
France = just average
Switzerland = just average
Brasil = good but not impressive
Croatia = stronger than expected
 
poland gave a good account of themselves
I was only able to watch intermittantly
but that included the last 4 minutes
 
I want to see Trinidad and Tobago vs Togo in final

That would change from a Brzil vs Germany

I was watching that match while I was working and virtually every time I looked up ghana was attacking the goal

Yellow card- Yes.

Red card- Hell no.

Italians are known for diving/faking.

Did you watch the last game? Dude gets fouled, gets hauled off on a stretcher then comes back 2 minutes later and scores a break away goal.

Ha, ha. No I missed that miracle recovery. NBA players are almost as bad screaming for the foul every time they drive the lane, but soccer players writhing on the ground holding their shins is hard to stomach.

Now Eddie Pope, one of the few soccer players I know by name, is gone for the entire second half to a red card.

This game will never make it in America on a commerical level with rules like that.

nah ghana shot their wad today. They scored early and the Czech's just kinda fell apart then they were a man down for a good portion of the match. Hopefully the US can beat ghana and I'm pretty sure italy will beat czech. They have to be embarrased the way they played today against the US. I thought Donovan played really well today.

lol i hope they do. They czechs either need to lose to italy or beat the fuck outta them like 4-0 to help the USA with goal differential. If Czech beats Italy 4-0 that will make them -2 in GD and the USA wins 2-0 then the US would advance. The US should beat ghana easily they just can't let essien go nuts.

Fought well to qualify, tentative against Paraguay, completely dominated Trinidad, Sweden this evening, on the cards should be the most difficult match in the group, just warming up man. Haven't seen anything special from any of the strong contenders so far, reckon they've got a good chance of bringing home the trophy this year...oh and the English did invent the game.

I think if France can get on track they could do some damage. They have one of the most talented overall teams in the Cup. The can't keep fucking up though with these ties with Korea.

look at the players they have though: With Henry, Zidane, Barthez, Trezeguet and Gallas on their team they have the potential to be dominant. If they get their shit together and get past this round they could do something
