noobie to bulking

Mikus

New member
I've been on a 6th month cutting spree, went from about 230-175, to tone up for the summer mainly...well now that summer is flying by, i want to start bulking back up...After 4 years of off and on bodybuilding, and finally doing thing's the right way, i'm going to start bulking properly.

I have a few questions for those of you who have experience bulking.

Me being 175lb's, should i shoot for 1.5g of protein per pound or 2g per pound?

Also, i love fruits, mainly banana's,grapes, and oranges, but i've heard from several sources that these are some of the foods i should stay away from. My question is is it true and why?

Also, can any one tell me how many calories i should consume per day being 175lbs?

And my last question, do you guys recommend weight gainers for times when you can't get that last meal in? i'll probably pre make everything but just in case i can't for whatever reason, i was thinking of picking up a weight gainer.

I think that's it for now, k to any one who posts some constructive feedback.

Wow, no responses? Come on, help the bro out:

1. 1.5g/protein should be fine. Raise it later if you need to.

2. Fruits are fine. Fructose is not going to kill you, especially when bulking. People who say fruits are bad have fell victim to the "anti-carb" trend thats plagueing our world. Great for pre and/or post workout.

3. No one can tell you the exact amount of cals you need to consume to gain solid weight. Start eating more than you're eating right now. Shoot for a gain of about 2 pounds/week (that seems to be the agreed upon average). Once you stall out, then eat more. Just make sure you don't jump into eating a shitload right off the bat = fat + waste.

4. Weight gainers are fine, just make sure the one you get isn't loaded with sugar. Better yet, make your own, Here's a fav recipe of mine:

2 cups skim milk
25-30g Whey Protein
2-3 Tbsp Peanut Butter
1 Tbsp Honey
1/2 - 1 cup Oats
Fruit for taste

Good luck bro

protein @ 1-1.5g/lb. body weight should be fine.
keep carbs @ 2g/lb. body weight

this is what works for me.

limit fruit to ~3 pcs/day. a sugar is a sugar is a sugar. post workout is great, since your body is screaming for food.

best of luck.
