yeah they tend to do that
also, if you get a whiskey that has caramel in it, throw it away. its actually not really worth doing that sort of thing anyway, most of the money goes on tax, not production
an average guy can make a bottle of vodka at home for about a euro. the price to make scotch isnt terribly much higher. its when you have to package it, market it, pay tax on it....and besides, some of the essences some companies are coming out with these days (if youre into essence based whiskeys etc) tase really good even after just a month
anyway.
