did it motivate you? or did it make you pessimistic?
sometimes intellectualls while being very informative can often have unusual effects on the listener when thet speak
for example Michael Parenti ex Yale professor is so pessimistic that it often leaves a bad taste in ones mouth.
and speakers like
Gerry Spence ex insurance lawyer, turned heroic savior to the common suer against big business is kinda of motivational.
his book WITH JUSTICE FOR NONE Is actually very educational, and damning of corporate america yet he gives you enough knowledge to where you feel that you may actually be able to do something about it.........
Cheers for the link... I am going to do me some reading...
"... when you come back from the Third World to the West - the U.S. in particular - you are struck by the narrowing of thought and understanding, the limited nature of legitimate discussion, the separation of people from each other. It's startling how stultifying it feels, since our opportunities are so vastly greater here."
I was just awestruck by the depth and breadth of his ability to show connections through media subtrafudge. Plus he is a very good speaker he wont piss you off! LOL!!!
