Newbie: How long should I train before I can use AS?

mindbodysoul said:
I've been training only about 6 months, with focus on cardio and stretching. Whats the minimum I should go? And how long until I maximize my natural ability. I really want to start a low Anavar cycle but if you guys think I should wait I will, I'm not in any hurry, this is going to be a fun science experiement.

So what is your goal?

It's not really clear. Are you planning on doing a tri-athlelon, become a yoga instructor or do you want to put on muscle?

It IS important to lift until you at least come close to your genetic limits.
The time it takes to get there is up to your genetics, how you train, and diet. At 175lbs your probably capable of putting on at lease 25 more pounds of natural muscle. IMO you should take it natty for 2-4 years. Then start AAS

What the minimum amount I should goto the gym then if I take Creatine CE2, and eat 2 grams of protien per pound of body weight?

even without that stuff u should be splitting up those bodyparts into no more than 2 per workout (1 large 1 small) and get on some kind of 4 or 5 day rotation with 1 or 2 days off per week.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all your input, I guess I was getting a little ahead of myself with the AS. As much as I'd like to start your probably right.

No matter how hard I push it seems that its really hard to make my muscles sore. I did ab work the other day for two n a half hours, until there was no way I could go any more but I still wasnt sore.

Whats the trick I've got to be working out wrong. I'm thinking about just paying a personal trainer to get me going. What do you guys think about PTs?

i think you or anyone for that matter should train long enough to learn proper technique in the major compound exercises like squats, deadlifts, bench, etc before juicing. also a person should train long enough to make sure he is serious about it and its not just a phase. The decision to use steroids should only come after extensive research is done by the user and blood tests/physicals are performed to ensure healthy bodily function.

As long as you're serious about it, a healthy adult male, and know how to properly eat and train(to some extent at least. we all get better every day at training and dieting, as no one has all the answers), id say go for it. start out with small doses, see if you can live with the side effects, if any, and go from there.

+1

you could be one of those bros that get to where they want to be w/o ever using gear--and most certainly in the low 200 lb range w/<11% bf before even considering gear

Hey thanks Eddie,

I think youve given me the best advice yet. I decided to go ahead and try it, accepting that I was looking for a shortcut, and stepped up my game in the gym tonight. I can barley hold my arms up to type they are so damn weak. I can tell I am going to be sore for a couple days.

I'm really gonna give this a shot, I realize its gonna be a couple years at least before I reach my potential but since you said I could easily get to the low 200 range and get down to 10% before considering It thought that is a good goal 2 shoot after.

So thanks again! This is a great forum.

Mindbodysoul, you are nowhere near where you need to be before even considering the sauce. You really should change your wrokout routines and consider diet much better.

Muscle soreness has nothing to do with muscle growth.

Also, doing 2.5 h of ab work is over-training, which is just as detrimental to putting on muscle as not training at all.

Some PTs are great, some are rubbish.
