Oh guys.. GO easy on me.. Im new at this.. (Hey, didnt we all start out somewhere?)

Going to start working out in the mornings during the week.
a) anything special I should do for morning workouts?
b) Is doing cardio on the off days good?
c) How often to work abs?

About me... 25, 6'6" 230lbs.. Also a diabetic so that will change some things..

Any help would be good.

Tell us what your goals are. Bodybuilding, powerlifting, strongman competitions, general fitness, etc.....

That will help us give you a better answer....:)

Well...

Well I am looking to gain strength and overall fitness. Im not looking to get huge but an overall fit look. But mainly it is to stay healthy since I am diabetic.

Is it good to workout 3 days a week and cardio on the 2 off days?

I am also new

Do I need to have off days, and if so should it be regamented? Chris it sounds like you and I are going for the same thing except I'm not diabetic. good luck to us both here.

Maybe we can help each other out [email protected]
I'm sure you and I will have the same qustions coming up here, what do you say we colaberate so as to not annoy these nice people.

There`s alot of answers if you search but to get you started you should do compound movements and train each body part 1-2 times per week. treat abs as any other muscle with little variation.
I would not do cardio yet untill you have a few weeks under your belt of the weights and then you`ll see where you need to go from there with energy/food/rest etc.

Don`t worry about the amount of weights you`re lifting yet. Just do the basic movements PROPERLY. Then start slowly increasing weights shooting for around 8 reps.

This should get you started then you`ll have more specific questions. good luck guys

as a beginner, I find it easier to work out 3 days a week, and doing sets that work large muscle groups. It keeps you honest, then as I keep seeing gains, it makes me anxious for my next work out day, instead of risking not seeing any gains, and getting discouraged.

Insulin aids the absorption of proteins and other vital nutrients into your cells (specifically carbohydratse). Most bodybuilders eat within 1 hour of their workout since they're glycogen and other energy stores have been depleted and your insulin becomes very sensitive since it wants to replenish the muscles with fuel. This is a window of opportunity to ship in a lot of protein very quickly (as well as carbohydrates). What type of diabetes do you have?
